The hotel is well situated and in a quiet area. Shower was great, warm room
Breakfast was good- Bacon, egg and sausage in a BAP along with yoghurt and cereal.
Cosy terrace cottage built into the mountain side. Offers accommodations in Blaenau-Ffestiniog, 28 miles from Snowdon Mountain Railway and 31 miles from Llandudno Pier.

It is a lovely little village in the mountains. good walking possiblities. you have two good sized supermarkets. Quiet . you can easily reach main attractions by car. We usually had our main meal lunchtime. but we did have fish and chips takeaway but ate them in local pub. The landlord said we could and enjoyed a pint at the same time.

It's a great location for access to the mountains, walks and the coast, including Porthmadog, Barmouth and the Llyn Peninsula.
What's not so great is the limited eating out possibilities without needing transport. A couple of drinkers pubs and a handful of take aways (with not very good ratings, menus stuck on the window with blue tac etc). De Niros did look nice but it's a daytime cafe.
The supermarkets are excellent (Co-Op esp), so if you are happy to self cater you no doubt get better value accomodation here than would would in, say, Betws y Coed.

Having not been to North Wales for over 40 years I had hoped it would be more like the idyllic Bettws-Y-Coed. Unfortunately not, roads of small terraced cottages. A couple of good little supermarkets, a poor "old school" type Indian restaurant and a few take-aways. I think the highlight of Blaeneau is the slate mine !

We stayed here as we had a zip world experience the next day and it’s a good four hour drive from where we live. There are a couple of pubs to drink but not many restaurants to eat in, but we did eat at the red chilies Indian restaurant and it was very good, but it is very small so recommend booking prior to arrival.

Beautiful house, very spacious.
Beautiful house, very spacious. Great for a family or group of friends. Fully equipped kitchen to entertain. Amazing views out the back from the windows or the outdoor space, weather permitting. I couldn’t navigate the parking space but great carpark one minute away. Ten minute drive from Zipworld, walks from the door and within easy reach of Betws y Coed and Snowdonia. A couple of pubs in the village with local atmosphere. No restaurants within walking distance but plenty of takeaway options.

Lots to do, but we didnt have time to do it all.
Lots to do, but we didnt have time to do it all. Weather not great so dress appropriately. Views were stunning, loved the steam railway. Didnt have time to explore the area properly but looks like lots to do and a zipline.
Breakfast at hotel was great but a few other places on the main street.
A coop and a Morrisons too.
We needed to use a taxi, ask for Nev, but there were buses and train station.

Fantastic hotel, tucked away between Betws-y-Coed and Ffestiniog right next door to Antur Stiniog downhill biking centre and Zipworld. Views right down the valley were lovely. Hotel throughout was very clean and very dog friendly. Our dog was really welcomed and could join us for drinks in the evening and at breakfast. We had a room on the ground floor which when booked was listed as a 'budget' room. Nothing budget about it though, it was lovely and again really clean and well equipped, comfy bed and gorgeous complimentary toiletries.
Blaenau Ffestiniog is an interesting slate mining town, the surrounding hills scarred by an industry that once supplied the world with roofing tiles. Just beyond this rugged but beautiful landscape lie the national parks with their forests, waterfalls and green meadows. Thanks to torrent rains and the abysmal state of the hotel, we spent quite a lot of time at the café & information centre across the street, where we met some wonderful people who really saved our stay in Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Lovely cosy, clean and very well maintained cottage, just right for the two of us. The owners have thought of everything you could need from the well equipped kitchen, smart TV as well as books and games. Great having the parking at the back for security and loading/unloading.
Location is great for acccess to Snowdonia, coast and loads of walks. Not a large choice of places to eat in Blaenau-Ffestiniog itself but excellent local shops for food, including a large Co-Op a short walk away.
We liked that this property was close to Zipworld where you can participate in many awesome activities, was only a short fifteen minute drive to reach it! The price was considerably cheap for such a spacious room. I enjoyed the decor of the long mirror in our room (Mountain View room) & the free parking available was very convenient & hard to come by nowadays for most hotels, so appreciated.
This place is perfect! We booked here because of its unique appeal, and it didn't disappoint. The buggy to the hut was a great experience (this was the selling point for us). The people at the hotel were extremely helpful and only a phone call away if needed. Located up a Welsh Hill in the middle of nowhere, it's great to switch off and chill.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room had everything you need and was of a good size. Car parking great. Beautiful location. We had food in the bar in the evening, which was excellent, and a beautiful Welsh breakfast in the morning. I can't fault anything about the hotel or bar. . The staff couldn't do enough for you.I would happily return.
Location was great, we were booked into ZipWorld so it was a few minutes away. The house is well equipped, clean and comfortable. The neighbours were helpful with parking our car as it is a tight squeeze. Everyone in Blaenau Festiniog is friendly but don't expect posh restaurants and cosy pubs!
Everything. .
This cottage had everything you would need for a break in Blaenau Ffestiniog.
It is close to the shops and the train station places to walk.
And most importantly when you look out of the window you can see the mountains. Stunning views everywhere.
A cute hotel in an idyllic village! The reception were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent! (although come hungry, because the portion sizes are ENORMOUS and quality was great!). The room was comfortable and I would stay again.
Location suited us as very quiet, a pub and hotel nearby for meals and both places very friendly.
Situated in the middle of places we wanted to visit.
Information and leaflets in cottage suggesting walks and places to visit
close to train station, in the heart if Blaenau Ffestiniog & walking distance to a few stores especially the coffee shop on the corner.
Richard was so kind & helped us to the train station with our luggage. so courteous.
The hotel has lovely surroundings, the room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and said we’d definitely come back if staying around this area again. Easy to park aswell
Considering Covid restrictions breakfast was good. Location was good for access to areas we wanted to visit. Blaenau Festiniog itself however seems to be very run.
The hotel is well situated and in a quiet area. Shower was great, warm room
Breakfast was good- Bacon, egg and sausage in a BAP along with yoghurt and cereal.
Wonderful location, lovely hotel, very clean and with all the facilities you need. The staff is also very friendly and the dinner and breakfast were delightful.
