The first welcome from Ann Leigh at reception was lovely - she could not have been nicer as she explained everything to me. The staff in the Grand Hall, Restaurant and Bar were all so friendly and efficient. Even when I requested the same table for breakfast and dinner-nothing was too much bother for them.

Thankfully the next door room (a nice couple) weren't on their honeymoon - otherwise it could have been even more bizarre.
According to reception 50% of all rooms have an adjoining door - which has little (if any) sound proofing.
Stay here and you will have a 50% chance of hearing every word (sound) your neighboring room makes. NOT GOOD !

I thought check in times were not the. Best 4pm is a very late check in especially as we were only booked for one night and an early check out 11am it wasn’t even 24hrs! Lovely setting and facilities nice restaurant and helpful friendly staff yes would recommend to others except for check in time

I booked the hotel as a treat for my mum and dad, my dad turned 80 on Sunday and as we were having a party thought a wee overnight would revive them, and that’s exactly what it did. From the minute they arrived everyone was so welcoming, the room, the food and the view were all excellent, they now cant wait to return!
This was my first time staying at this hotel, and it was absolutely fantastic! Everything about the hotel was wonderful, from the facilities to the services provided. The breakfast was also great, offering a variety of delicious options.
The staff were very polite and attentive, making my stay even more pleasant. I will definitely return in the future and stay for more nights. Thank you for such a memorable experience!
Fantastic room overlooking the river, very comfortable bed, excellent shower and plenty of space. Had food in the lounge bar in the evening, fish and chips were excellent. Jamie the barman was so helpful and explained the history of the place. Breakfast was great and cooked to order as hotel was quit in February.
Spectacular hotel and although old found everywhere so clean. The room and the bed were excellent. The staff were very friendly and funny if encouraged.
