Extremely comfortable memory foam bed. Beautifully decorated. Very spacious and comfortable. Stephanie and Justina were such wonderful hosts. I will definitely make this my go-to home away from home whenever I visit the UK.

Dinner amazing, I order the fish and chip thinking it would be nice and simple but it was extravaganza!!!!! I was offered a mini tasting box which was amazing, even the twist on homemade breads and butter was delicious
Located in East Horndon, 8.1 miles from Upminster Tube Station, Ye Olde Plough House provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.
Public transport was great. Many paved paths 'shared' for walking & cycling. However, unlike the roads there, the paved sidewalks -especially when walking outside of the 'Town Centre,' are often uneven as I found myself being frequently 'tripped-up.'
Also, in some areas, the bushes near the sidewalks haven't been 'tended to' by the city and are often encroaching onto the sidewalks -footpaths, which in turn are 'in-your-face!'
Basildon and the surrounding area has a lot of traffic and a fair amount of graffiti too, along w/ too much litter around.

I attended my brother’s wedding here and the venue was beautifully decorated. The food was delicious. I stayed overnight and the room was clean and the bed super comfortable. What makes this whole trip was the staff, they were so friendly and helpful. I’m taking away the best memory from this and that’s priceless.

All staff were so friendly, helpful and professional. We really couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. Rooms were clean, tidy and very welcoming. It was lovely to book into our room after an hour and a half drive, and sit down and have a cup of tea. We'll done Basildon and thank you.

Well there was not much I liked the hotel was clean and inviting ,
We eat at the Toby carvery which was better value for breakfast compared to the hotel prices ,
We went to see the Quo experience who were preforming there that evening and thought it would be nice to stay ,
I do feel that it is a lot of money to stay for one night as the room was small and cold !
Parking is a rip off as I didn’t know about that before arriving as I would have gone somewhere else think carefully people if you intend to stay for a few nights as 24hr parking was £12.

The staff were brilliant and our stay was very good in most respects with just two provisos; our room wasn't cleaned and we made our own bed; also I think the language in the bar was foul from 3 customers and loud. I am no prude as I have worked in industrial environments, but I think at best there is a time and a place if one thinks swearing is appropriate. This occurred on Fri 13th.

The staff were absolutely outstanding from our most helpful, kind friendly
Check in receptionist, 10 out of 10, which then followed on with housekeeper staff, bar staff and breakfast staff. Absolutely outstanding. The grounds and value for money was exceptional.
We have stayed at Premier Inn at some location. Approximately the same price including breakfast. However Holiday Inn had added extras of Starbucks being available on site and room service.
We also had the option of breakfast in our room. We ordered dinner through room service and the food was far superior to what was available at other hotel in same location. Will become our new go to.
Nice, comfortable and warm place. The room was cosy and felt soundproof and private. The bedding and bed was clean and to a high standard of comfort. There was all the facilities available to use which exceeded that of a regular hotel. The value for money was too ! Hosts were warm and welcoming, and had a peaceful rest through out my stay.
We were after cheap one night accommodation and for in that area it was cheap.
The staff were pleasant, and when service was required it was quick and effective.
I liked the semiautomatic car registration system, recently I had to fight a parking charge when my reg was written down wrongly by reception at a different hotel chain.
it’s one of the best places to stay in Basildon. the staff are without exception brilliant. the service alone makes it definitely worth staying. Christy teh manager is exceptional. Sue the restaurant manager and her team are truly outstanding and the reception team are extremely helpful. recommend without any reservations!
We use the hotel for overnight stays when we are working in the area. All we need is a comfortable bed and a warm shower. The hotel serves that purpose very well, and at a great price. We are self-employed so the cost comes straight off our bottom-line, the value-for-money is perfect for us.
Had some issues entering the property as we were given the wrong code but was quickly rectified. There were nice modern touches like the LED lights on the stairs and the colour changing light in the living room area
the staff at this hotel are outstanding
from Christy the manager to Joe and all the reception staff and the fantastic breakfast manager lady who makes this stay an a outstanding experience. do not hesitate to book
Location was exceptional. Close to train station and town centre. The accommodation was clean and put together. The customer service was top notch. They were quick to respond to my messages and any issues I had.
Good location for visiting family. Cheaper than budget hotel room in area. Good kitchen facilities. Spacious. Large TV with lots of channels. Easy free parking in front of property.
