Three ladies in their seventies so only downside was the pedestrian only access was rather steep. Fortunately we realized this and took wheeled cases. The view over the tree tops to the sea was consequentially amazing!

WE were there for the walks in Snowdonia. Barmouth itself is a rather shabby looking town with funfairs and cheap eateries. There is only one good restaurant, Bistro Bermo which did us a beautiful takeaway because they have no room for dogs. The pubs locally served mainly very unhealthy food straight out of the freezer into the microwave. We did have one lovely fresh fish meal at the 'Last Inn'. The level of obesity we saw in Barmouth generally was immediately obvious and very concerning.
Our hotel/B&B was on the outskirts of the town offering stupendous views of the bridge and estuary and into the harbour. It was ideally positioned for walks in Snowdonia and along the coast.

Been visiting Barmouth area for years.
Been visiting Barmouth area for years. Wide Sandy beaches and dunes. Barmouth is a small town with basic shops, takeaways and a good amount of pay parking.
Outside of the town are lots of smaller villages, beautiful scenery including Snowdonia and castles such as Harlech.
If you want a good breakfast/ fry up try the Milky Bar cafe just up from the level crossing. Never had a bad meal there in 40 years 😊👍

Most guest houses seem to be on the seafront.
Most guest houses seem to be on the seafront. The views from there are excellent. A half mile walk takes you across the railway viaduct where the view towards Dolgellau along Avon Mawddach is one of the best in Britain. To access the land on the far side of the Mawddach is best on foot, because by car it is necessary to drive either ten miles into Dolgellau or use the toll bridge at Penmaenpool, which saves only a couple of miles. The hills behind Barmouth have excellent views but involve a very steep climb. The best route up is to follow the signs to the National Trust's Dinas Oleu property. Other than that, the great attraction for Barmouth is the hill walking. All of what I've said here does depend on good visibility. Being Wales, rain and low cloud are not uncommon, but that is hardly Barmouth's fault!

We've visited the last 40 odd years....a lovely seaside town with the added bonus of spectacular scenery. The Mawddach Estuary and Bridge make it for us but equally when the kids were young there was the beautiful beach and places to go crabbing. We used to cycle along the old Mawddach railway track with them in their seats on the back. Wonderful walks, lots to do and explore.

Barmouth is a lovely seaside town in Wales.
Barmouth is a lovely seaside town in Wales. It is not overcrowded with activities which means it has kept some of its charm but there is plenty to do. There is a nice beach, a small funfair, a couple of amusements, donkey rides and plenty of lovely places to eat. The harbour is worth a visit and a lot of people enjoy fishing for crabs off the pier. We took a beautiful ferry ride one morning over to Fairbourne and caught a small steam train along the peninsula taking in the sprawling estuary on which Barmouth sits and it is sandwiched between the Snowdonia mountain range. A beautiful view of sea and mountains.
Lovely 4 days stay at this hotel. Pleasant owners, lovely modern rooms which were cleaned with beds made every day. Plentiful supply of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits with the added benefit of washing up liquid and tea towel. Shampoo, hand wash and body lotion also a nice touch. Delicious cooked breakfast and fresh fruit with option of a continental breakfast. Definitely worth a visit. Also located right on seafront with spaces to park car.
Great location with excellent views especially when eating breakfast or dinner in the restaurant. Very nice, comfortable room with character and even better views over Barmouth. Food was very good, I enjoyed my full English breakfast! Hosts were very friendly and helpful and were running the hotel in a very sensible way to cater for Covid restrictions. Easy walk down in to town (although steeper on the way back!).
This was a fabulous experience in a gorgeous hotel with an amazing view of where the estuary meets the Irish Sea. Gary the manager was incredibly helpful and kind. Breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of options. The bar, sitting area, and outdoor area were all beautiful overlooking the bridge and water. Loved this place and can't wait to come back, enjoy the hotel and run on the Mawddach trail again.
It was lovely to stay in this beautifully kept stone Victorian guest house. It had a nice garden in the front of the house with a table and chairs- perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day with a bottle of wine. The rooms had gorgeous large windows that let in lots of light. Two of our rooms had views of the sea. The third had a view of the hills. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were modern.
Absolutely spotless. The towels were luxurious- just like home.
Location just perfect.
Beds really comfortable.
Stylish decor. Sky TV.
And when I kind of got lost on arriving in Barmouth, Debbie was on the other end of the phone.
Would definitely stay again.
This is an exceptional property. Yes, no views as such, but it had everything.
Loved the welcome pack. The finishing touch.
The staff were very good the room was old and tired but very Clean no chairs In the room falling to bits wardrobe and 2old pieces of furniture very old bathroom the cleaner did a excellent job considering what she had to work with the food was good the position of the hotel was very good we went for budget price this time to see what you got for the money won't do that again
We stayed for 3 nights mid October, it was right on the beach and central to all amenities for adults and children. If we went to Barmouth again we would go back to Môr Wyn. The hotel was at the end of the parking zone so we were able to park for free at side of hotel, although I guess it you went in middle of holiday season you would find it harder to find a space.
The B&B was in a great location just on the way into Barmouth with the most amazing sea views. Really lovely place to stay! We stayed in a Double Deluxe Room with really contemporary decor and a lovely bathroom, and the most gorgeous views across the water. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great with lots of choice.
Staff were friendly and helpful, despite being very busy behind the bar during "Happy Hour"
Nice rooms which had been refurbished to a high standard - all very clean and comfortable.
Being a very popular public house, there was a very good selection of ales and ciders.
Easy access to the town and promenade
The hotel is ideally placed, just a short walk takes you into Barmouth for the shops & restaurants. The owners are fantastic - so friendly & welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and the shower hot. A great place to stay.
Great location and views. Accommodation was lovely and clean. Lovely place to stay for the weekend and so close to the town centre.
Hosts were very helpful and good communication with check in details and info for the local area.
Would definitely stay again if visiting Barmouth.
Wonderful location and view from our room across the estuary was amazing. Marie and Kevin were so lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was so tasty and very filling. Definitely our favourite B&B and we've stayed in quite a few in Barmouth. Hopefully be back in 2024.
Lovely traditional seaside hotel. Unspoiled, and in a great location for anyone visiting Barmouth.
The staff were very polite, and made us feel very welcome. All followed by a great breakfast in the morning.
We will definitely be coming back!!!
