WE were there for the walks in Snowdonia.

WE were there for the walks in Snowdonia. Barmouth itself is a rather shabby looking town with funfairs and cheap eateries. There is only one good restaurant, Bistro Bermo which did us a beautiful takeaway because they have no room for dogs. The pubs locally served mainly very unhealthy food straight out of the freezer into the microwave. We did have one lovely fresh fish meal at the 'Last Inn'. The level of obesity we saw in Barmouth generally was immediately obvious and very concerning. Our hotel/B&B was on the outskirts of the town offering stupendous views of the bridge and estuary and into the harbour. It was ideally positioned for walks in Snowdonia and along the coast.

Seaside town, but not Blackpoolish (good point) plenty of choice of bars & restaurants. Not Rowdy, visited in mid April. The local people we friendly & helpful. Didn't try the beaches at this time of year. The surrounding area is stunning.

Been visiting Barmouth area for years.

Been visiting Barmouth area for years. Wide Sandy beaches and dunes. Barmouth is a small town with basic shops, takeaways and a good amount of pay parking. Outside of the town are lots of smaller villages, beautiful scenery including Snowdonia and castles such as Harlech. If you want a good breakfast/ fry up try the Milky Bar cafe just up from the level crossing. Never had a bad meal there in 40 years 😊👍

Most guest houses seem to be on the seafront.

Most guest houses seem to be on the seafront. The views from there are excellent. A half mile walk takes you across the railway viaduct where the view towards Dolgellau along Avon Mawddach is one of the best in Britain. To access the land on the far side of the Mawddach is best on foot, because by car it is necessary to drive either ten miles into Dolgellau or use the toll bridge at Penmaenpool, which saves only a couple of miles. The hills behind Barmouth have excellent views but involve a very steep climb. The best route up is to follow the signs to the National Trust's Dinas Oleu property. Other than that, the great attraction for Barmouth is the hill walking. All of what I've said here does depend on good visibility. Being Wales, rain and low cloud are not uncommon, but that is hardly Barmouth's fault!

We've visited the last 40 odd years....a lovely seaside town with the added bonus of spectacular scenery. The Mawddach Estuary and Bridge make it for us but equally when the kids were young there was the beautiful beach and places to go crabbing. We used to cycle along the old Mawddach railway track with them in their seats on the back. Wonderful walks, lots to do and explore.

Barmouth is a lovely seaside town in Wales.

Barmouth is a lovely seaside town in Wales. It is not overcrowded with activities which means it has kept some of its charm but there is plenty to do. There is a nice beach, a small funfair, a couple of amusements, donkey rides and plenty of lovely places to eat. The harbour is worth a visit and a lot of people enjoy fishing for crabs off the pier. We took a beautiful ferry ride one morning over to Fairbourne and caught a small steam train along the peninsula taking in the sprawling estuary on which Barmouth sits and it is sandwiched between the Snowdonia mountain range. A beautiful view of sea and mountains.

Thank you Chris and Zelenie for welcoming us into your home. Me and my mum really enjoyed our stay in room 6 and we can see what all the hype is about. Room was immaculately clean, decor was contemporary with a splash of traditional furniture.Beautiful sea view you won't be disappointed. A small fridge was in the room which was handy. An excellent guest house to stay at in Barmouth, easy access to the beach, town and restaurants. No breakfast served however plenty of local options, Look forward to coming again. Thank you.😊 x

The property is situated in a excellent location in barmouth, rooms are pristine & very clean, Tracey the hostess is a wonderful chatty lady & absolutely brilliant nothing is to much trouble. Also Bryn the dog 🐕 is a absolute character. We've already booked up to stay at Bry Mynach next September 2024. Probably the best property we've stayed in on our holiday travels around the uk over many years. The property is a credit to Tracey & Scott the owners of Bryn Mynach.

Lovely hotel with fab sea views, nicely decorated room and good sized en-suite facilities. Great breakfast. Certainly looked lovely and nice outdoor space to enjoy the views with a drink from the bar. Friendly welcome and all the staff we spoke to were nice and helpful. Got some good exercise with mountain walks on the doorstep and down to Barmouth village. The hotel is up a reasonably steep hill so for less mobile guests they’d probably need a car.

It was lovely to stay in this beautifully kept stone Victorian guest house. It had a nice garden in the front of the house with a table and chairs- perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day with a bottle of wine. The rooms had gorgeous large windows that let in lots of light. Two of our rooms had views of the sea. The third had a view of the hills. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were modern.

We had the room on the top floor with a sea view. It was up a lot of stairs but was worth it for the incredible view out over the bay, albeit through a relatively small window in this room. Location is excellent - just far enough out of the town not to be disturbed by the noise, but close enough to walk to the pubs/restaurants in 5 to 10 minutes. Fridge in the room was a nice bonus.

A lovely B&B right next to Barmouth estuary. There are plenty of beautiful and interesting places to go to. The room was very stylish and clean and the breakfasts were nice. The owners, Marie and Kevin, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable and the price was reasonable, too. I was very happy to stay at Lawrenny Lodge and I am definitely coming back

Good central location for exploring north Wales by car , foot or bike. The hotel is on the Main Street in Barmouth has free parking only let down was they’re no longer doing food except the breakfast which were not aware of until arrival so finding a place to eat in the evening was a nightmare as everywhere had been booked up weeks in advance.

Breakfast was exceptional, of all the B&B's, Cafe's I have eaten in this is the best! Room was exceptional, great view, Bryn made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Even the cleaning lady was lovely and friendly. This far exceeded my expectation and this will always be my first choice to stay when we go to Barmouth.

Its nice an quiet at night and theres parking at the hotel unlike others in town. Great breakfast and host were very accomodating.

Great location situated right in front of the beach. It was very easy to get to and find. Lovely guest house, very tidy and clean. The room facilities are great. This guest house doesn't do breakfast but that didn't put me off. It's just a really lovely place to stay with the beach right in front.
