It was an excellent location for the wedding we were attending. Overall good access to the town centre and train station. Staff did resolve a tricky problem for us as quickly as possible, and overall were very amenable.
Hotel Cromwell Stevenage was once a farm house and home to John Thurloe, secretary to Oliver Cromwell. The property is close to the A1(M) and just 10 minutes’ drive from Knebworth Park.

A wonderful property, good sized and lovely room for a one night stay
Located in Letchworth, 8.1 miles from Knebworth House, The Fox at Willian has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage...

Makes an excellent base for exploring round about Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. There are excellent aircraft museums within easy reach, but those weekends with air displays can lead to congestion on the access roads near Duxford.

My daughter and I stayed for 1 night in this lovely B&B, host very welcoming, despite us arriving late in the day, we stayed in a cosy twin room, with fantastic garden view, no en-suite but private bathroom opposite our room, didn’t find this to be a problem.
Breakfast was very good,( and gluten free provided )cooked to order, we ate way too much!
It was a pity we could only stay for 1 night, but hopefully can stay again in the future.
Struggling to find anything we didn’t like.
Thank you

The hotel is not in a neighbourhood.
The hotel is not in a neighbourhood. It's an isolated stop right on the A1 next to a nice resturant. Useful for travelling and near several market towns in North Herts, all of which are pleasant with lots of restaurants cafes and shops.

Had a few problems before my visit, but was put right by june- Thank you. The bathroom absolutely stank of stale cigarette smoke. I would have said this was a smoking room! The toilet refused to flush. Brought these to the attention of June. Slept well, just shame about the bathroom. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel. Good for a one night stop.

We thought the room provided was very good value for money for the price we paid. The decor was a little tired/dated but the room was very, very clean and tidy.
The shower enclosure was spacious and the water jets powerful. The bed was a little soft and the tv quite small but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There were no plug sockets near the bed at all, so apart...
There were no plug sockets near the bed at all, so apart from not being able to charge my phone and have it near me while I was in bed, I was also unable to plug in and use my little portable fan I had bought with me to combat the intense heatwave we are having. The room itself was far too hot, and with no air conditioning, the only form of air was the windows, which did not open far and were completely blocked by a huge bush. Also, during my stay, a member of staff used a key and walked right into my room, while I was naked. They should have known the room was occupied, (also the TV was on, so would have been heard from outside the door), and they should have at least knocked first. Checkout was fairly early compared to most hotels I have stayed in, whose checkouts are usually all around 12pm. The matress was also very thin and uncomfortable.
The front desk staff were friendly. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to sample the continental breakfast, as checkout was so early, I had a lot to do before leaving.
Cindy is an exceptional host and we were immediately made to feel very welcome. The house is in a pleasant and quiet rural location close to small and characterful villages but with ready access to the A1 and with the small town of Baldock 10 minutes drive away. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is excellent: beautifully presented and cooked and very substantial and served in a light and airy room. Secure and easy car parking by the house. We will definitely visit again.
I stay here a lot for work. Sometimes one night, sometimes more. For me the location is excellent (right on the A1!) and Letchworth seems to have an ongoing issues with available hotels. Unless you're an 'Eat in a restaurant every night' kind of person, then - being a major services - there's everything you need food-wise and some shopping as well. Petrol station and car-wash right there...what more do you need. Oh yeah, and FREE parking. Suck that Travelodge :)
The member of staff was very friendly on check in,
Beds are very comfortable.
Large rooms and seems spotless
Plenty of hot water for showers.
Plenty of car parking spots and seemed to be slightly wider than most, very good when you drive vans and pickup trucks
Although not park of the hotel there is a restaurant the other side of the Carpark. Lovely normal food there. None of this fancy stuff but very good quality
nothing didn’t even stay the night, there was no hot water, was given a different room and the same again only the second room stunk badly, so we left to look for alternative accommodation, really bad place if o could score lower than 1, I would have done so. Avoid this place, the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. trying to get a refund but it doesn’t look likely
- Although the box breakfast had run out, we had replacement vouchers for the Starbucks breakfast (Next door) which would normally be quite expensive.
- The staff were helpful and friendly
- Services food hall next door, with use of the huge carpark
- Nice kids park as part of the location
- A travel cot was provided at reception
I stay here once per week for work and the hotel does the job perfectly, Comfortable bed, good shower, perfect location for shops etc. Jay the receptionist has become my new friend and is very happy, helpful and accommodating and makes the whole experience every week more pleasant than it normally would be.
Room was clean, easily accessible and suitable size. The facilities are adequate but not lavish, the showers are good.As always our ridiculously friendly dogs were made welcome. One of the pleasures of staying at this hotel is the invariably friendly and helpful staff.
The lodge/hotel is right on the motorway. For us it was a only one night stay, at the end of a 2 week trip. If you choose to stay here, do it with low expectations in your mind (about rooms and breakfast).
The bed was very unstable.
The toilets leaked.
very poor overall and furniture very old.
I must say the staff were very nice though, and the restaurant right next to the hotel was outstanding.
LOCATION - WE CHOSE THIS HOTEL AS IT WAS CLOSE TO AN EVENT WE ATTENDED.
IT WAS QUIET AND WE SLEPT WELL ENOUGH
THE SHOWER WAS GOOD
BREAKFAST IN A BOX IS BETTER THAN NOTHING
Hotel is pretty tired. Cracked sink, dated bathroom, ancient sofabed! Yes it was cheap but I'm guessing the Hotel chain has suffered over the past couple of years! Shame!
Great location for visiting the family. Free parking.
Great shower & lovely soft towels.
Plenty of choice for breakfast at the services.
Staff very friendly.
Not the hotels fault but on my second night there was a very selfish person staying either next door or above my room (101). Banging all night until 04.00
