The Royal Hotel, hotel in Bacton

Just a minute’s walk from the sea front, The Royal Hotel provides elegant, modern rooms and free private parking.

Well-situated hotel, within walking distance of local shops, pub and beach. The staff were friendly and attentive and the evening meals we had in the restaurant were good quality with a decent range of options on the menu. Ample free car parking and a small terrace adjacent to the bar/restaurant to enjoy a drink al fresco, although this was also next to the quiet-ish main road. The shower in one room was over the bath with good power (hot & cold taps with removable shower head). The other room had a shower cubicle with rain shower head.

The most perfect stay! Everywhere within was immaculate.

The most perfect stay! Everywhere within was immaculate. Mattresses were high quality & sooo comfy! WiFi and smart TV are a welcome extra, especially in the evenings. There is a small private garden with a table & parasol. The kitchen had every utensil we needed. The hosts have really thought of everything 🙌🏼 The beach is just up the road, as are a shop, laundrette and chip shop. We also walked to the nearest pub, this took us around 20minutes. We would highly recommend and we will be back.

Bacton would be difficult to review as we only spent one night at Seals and only took a walk along the beach. The beach was excellent, very clean and lots of soft sand. So much space we don’t think it could ever get crowded. It is the perfect place for a quiet relaxing break.

Food places are scattered around, particularly at Walcott but if you want more interesting places to visit when the weather is not good, you have to drive a fair way. This is really for all-weather beach walkers and the beach is magnificent.

Bacton as a seaside village has few facilities, a pub, fish and chips, ice cream and a cafe about sums it up, however it does have lovely sandy beaches which were surprisingly empty, if you have children above the age on about 10 it may be a challenge to keep them entertained for any length of time.

We thought we had booked a chalet but when we arrived we were in an apartment which wasn’t ideal for our doggy, lovely owner changed us over to the chalet, the staff are all lovely and helpful, the accommodation is very basic but we were grateful to have been changed over to the chalet 😊

The lady with the dark hair in a ponytail was very accommodating and solved any problems I had. There was a man behind the bar who checked us in, he was helpful too except for one occasion I'll explain later. The view from our room was very good, we could see the beach and sea. In fact me and my daughter saw a full rainbow over the sea , got our shoes on and rushed to the beach to get a photo before the clouds came back. We just failed to make it, but it gives you an idea of how close the beach was to the hotel .

This was our second visit to Poachers Pocket and won't be our last! The staff were friendly and did everything they could to make our visit memorable. They have spared no expense in making the place comfortable and a lovely place to stay. We were right on the beach and had a lovely room with sea view. The food in the on site restaurant was tasty and plentiful. I cannot recommend it enough!Really didn't want to leave.

Honeysuckle Cottage exceeded our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s very spacious for a family and certainly has everything you need for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location is excellent for the beach and local pub. Shop and takeaways near by and a lovely part of Norfolk. Only problem we had was we didn’t stay long enough!

The host was unbelievably welcoming and friendly. The property was well kept, clean and modern. The property backs directly onto the beach which was ideal for a walk or even to watch the waves and the seals. Breakfast had numerous options to suit everyone and was cooked beautifully! We would highly recommend Seals Bacton to anyone.

We had a lovely week at the Summer Breeze caravan in Bacton, it’s a 5 minute walk to a wonderful beach where we walked every day with a shop, chip shop and nice coffee shop close by and it’s a short drive to many lovely places to discover
