Andover has pubs and bars, supermarkets and plenty of places to eat. There are enjoyable walks up to the Ladies Walk where you can see across the town and also to Charlton Lakes where there is a play area for kids.
Andover is also close to Basingstoke, Salisbury and Winchester.

It is a quiet town very convenient for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, the New Forest, Newbury, Whitchurch and Southampton. Anton Lakes local Natural Reserve gives a good opportunity to relax sitting on a bench and watching wildlife birds. Don't forget to visit the local Iron Age history museum and beautiful St.Mary's church.

A quiet town, without much to see. The Anton River canal near the old mill and the Anton lakes are the only places worth visiting, the river has ducks and swans as well. The town has supermarkets, and a train station and the distances are relatively easy to walk, even with luggage.

We visited Andover as were were going to the BSB round at Thruxton. There are lots of place to eat in Andover we opted for an Indian called Chilies, it was empty so were a bit worried but it is one of the best curries we have had in a while. Staff very polite and attentive. Can thoroughly recommend it.
The hotel, Jack Russell Fox, which is a Wetherspoons pub chain was excellent. Staff and food were what you would expect. The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate.
Location was beautiful. Hotel was really clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't have breakfast as I had early starts, but dinner was lovely. Nice touches in the room - like plenty of usb charging and plug sockets, and glass water and milk bottles in the mini fridge and on the corridor outside. Needed the Dyson fan as it was warm. Netflix on TV.
It was a self check in and the property were very prompt to assist us with all the queries. The location is at the heart of Andover and there are many restaurants & bars around. With a large pedestrian shopping street. Paid parking is also nearby. We stayed here because of our trip to the Peppa Pig park , and we loved our stay. Would repeat without hesitation.
A hotel with plenty of character and characters. Floors are uneven and a nightmare to navigate when one has had a couple of beverages but thats all part of the character of the place. All in all a very quaint old building right in the centre of Andover and good value for money and would stay again.
Good sized room and bathroom. Nicely furnished and comfortable. Convenient location with close by car park. Beforehand I wondered if we’d hear noise from the pub below considering it was open until 1am … but we didn’t hear a thing. Will definitely be looking to stay in Wetherspoons hotels again
The staff were very friendly and had great breakfast in the morning. It's right in the town centre not far from the bus station where you can get anywhere. would recommend this hotel if you eat in Pizza Express, you get 20% off your bill when you show your key card.
I've stayed at the Hawk inn each Monday for the past 3 weeks and I intend to keep booking as I believe I have found a little gem. Stephan and staff are great and are always happy, I can not recommend this hotel enough.
Great location, really comfortable bed, lots of space, and the room was clean and airy with lots of character... so much nicer than staying in a hotel! A tasty breakfast with locally sourced products.
A nice hotel in pleasant quiet location, but handy for getting in to the town centre.
Room was nice, clean and comfortable.
If visiting Andover I would definitely stay there again.
Great value room in the heart of Andover town and perfect for our meet up with family. Clean, and everything you would expect from a quality hotel, would definitely use again.
The price, the location, the staff, could not have found a better place to stay, after years of traveling to this part of Hampshire this is the best hotel we have stayed at.
Very charming historic building, with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, the hotel’s bar is quite cool too.
The hotel is very cosy and warm if you’re traveling in winter. The location is absolutely perfect and the staff were lovely when we checked in and out.
