The city has old buildings with new buildings. Looks a bit odd. Colmar & other Black forest towns are better to visit, especially along the Rhine.
City itself was bussling. Many roads were blocked off for repairs. Not many disabled car parking spaces & then those that were had vehicles parked without any disabled badges showing. Food was good with lots of choices from numberous cusines. Centre can be walked through in one day.

This ancient and historic riverside city is full of history,...
This ancient and historic riverside city is full of history, thousands of years of it. The city has changed hands many times and is a mix of French and German culture.
There is no shortage of places to drink and eat and being in Alsace the food, wine and beer are plentiful and ample.
The town can be busy with tour groups, many from Rhine river cruises which berth near the city. It may be necessary to be determined your view of things is not blocked.
The city is the home of the European Union Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights, plus the Council of Europe and attracts many people for this reason, it is eclectic and multi national. The highest student population in France, outside Paris, is here.
French and German plus the language of Alsace are spoken, plus English and other languages are widely spoken.
The local wines and beers are very good, a huge selection (think away from any main stream brands) The prices are reasonable given what the city is.
Public transport is good with buses and trams being frequent.
The airport is a short train ride from the Central Station.
Weather is central continental with warm summer, quite a lot of rain and cool winters.
You will be at the centre of Europe and may walk, or take a tram ride, to Germany.
The airport is small with few facilities, do not arrive too early for your flight! 90 minutes is ample.

The old-town is quaint and worth a walkthrough, but this is not my favorite town. On a hot summer's day, the streets were filled with tourists & bicyclists. Watching out for the bikers makes walking on the cobblestone streets challenging. A visit to the cathedral square is nice, but unless you want to sit in a cafe and people watch, I would skip it.

Excellent cathedral & museum & Petit France area. All walkable.
Busy due to River cruise visitors.
Too many bikes & beggars.
5 days sufficient to see the main attractions.
Visit cathedral early 09.30 - before the maddening crowds.
Take a small brolly for the unexpected downpour.

Strasbourg is a lovely and lively city.
2 /3 days is enough.
The part called “La petite France “ areas is great but very touristy try and explore other parts too.
Loads of cafes and restaurants.
People are very friendly and nice.
The cathedral is absolutely stunning and at night at 9h30 the light show is amazing.
Also we went to try a “choucroute” at the famous “maison Kammerzell” which was delicious. Try and get a table inside it’s worth it the building dates 1460.
Victoria is a perfect match of price and quality! I never take luxury hotels no matter whether business trip or a leisure. It was not my first stay at Victoria. It met my expectations this time too. WiFi was excellent! hot water was good! Bed was comfy! what else is needed? the location is convenient! within 100 meters from the railway station and within 5 minutes walk from Petit France (historic area of Strasbourg).
Nice hotel in a quiet part of Strasbourg. About 20 minutes walk from the centre. To get to the centre you can take a nice stroll along the river. The room was quite compact, but had everything we needed. There are plenty of parking spaces on site in a secure carpark. If you are looking for somewhere quiet not far from the city, this is a good choice.
A clean, comfortable, modern hotel just outside Strasbourg city centre but with good tram connections to centre. The breakfast is good ...lots of choice. Staff friendly and helpful. Due to change in plans we stayed an extra night and they were very accommodating.
The location was great - an easy flat 20 minutes cycle ride into Strasbourg centre petite France. The air conditioning was great in the 41 degrees heat that we had. It was clean and everything functional.
Simple but comfortable hotel in the Strasbourg suburbs, close to the highway for easy access. Convenient connection to the city centre by tram only 5 min away. Good value. Free parking
