Flavy-le-Martel is an extremely clean and quiet town.
Flavy-le-Martel is an extremely clean and quiet town. The buildings are architecturally interesting. The street lighting made walking through the town on a dark January evening feel safe. We were happy to wander round the town and see what the town had to offer. There were a few boutique shops and hairdressers. The boulangerie had many delights to tempt a hungry traveller. The pharmacy looked well stocked and we came across a farmers market shop. If you needed a supermarket you would need to head out of town. There were no restaurants, but there was a kebab shop. We were pleased to have some left over picnic to eat in the evening. A little cafe where we could get a coffee, would have been a very welcome sight.

We only stayed for a night en route south.
We only stayed for a night en route south. However the village we saw was quiet, and typically French, well presented and very tidy with all amenities. Very pleasant. The hotel was situated in the heart of the village and as one of the oldest buildings was a focal point.
