Quiet relaxing place to recharge and use as a base for exploring the island. there are some authentic Spanish restaurant's and some great cafes. There isnt a night life kind of place but somewhere to enjoy your days and relax. You need a car here, its easy to get around and plenty of supermarkets. The beaches are unspoilt, no sunbeds but there are alot of nudists about. No shops near the beaches so take a picnic. Definitely visit the b.e.a.c.h shop on the high street for some great home pieces

Lajares itself doesn’t have a lot to offer. Need to use the car all the time. It is better to stay in El Cotillo. Unless you want to be close to the specific beaches. I would not recommend more than 2-3 days there.
If in the area go to “Panaceta”, great bakery in Lajares.

The people here are very kind and welcoming.
The people here are very kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you see lots of surfers. After a surfing trip, Lajares is the perfect location to get some really good food. Don't worry if you are not a surfer. You can run, hike and bike here, too. You can also take a hike and visit a nearby volcano. In total, this is the perfect spot if you want to visit Fuerteventura. You have lots of houses to choose from and Corralejo is only a 15min ride away. El Cotillo, a surfer's paradise, is also just 15min away.

Beautiful town with some really good restaurants and coffee shops. La Boqueria was a particular favourite. Great tapas and Iberian pork. La Canela was nice for a drink, good music and gets busy when there's live music.

Because Lajares is not on the coast, it did not feel as “touristy” as the coastal villages and towns. However there are still plenty of places to eat (although you have to note the inevitable ‘one night a week closed’ for each restaurant and plan accordingly,) Good bakeries, a handy supermarket, everything within walking distance. Many lovely walks can be started from Lajares. La Bodega restaurant is a cut above the rest. If you did not have a car, bus service Correlejo to El Cotillo is very frequent. There is only one bicycle hire shop but sadly they do not have many bikes (that was our only disappointment)
We love Lajares, it's our 2nd time in La Oliva's area Lajares and we love it , close to both EL Cotillo and Corralejo, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets

It's been a bit cold especially first nights, however we appreciated the host left a heating devise with helped a lot.
The swimming pool was great, a bit cold for DEC/JAN ( and for myself) however my partner and son enjoyed for a few days.
Villa Calma is situated really away from the crowd and very peaceful. We love places like this as we have a car. Lajares center is 6 minutes away by car and the village is busy with joung people and nice places, best bread in la Panderia, best fresh homemade pasta take away by Maria and come together bei Amiga Mia.
At Villa Calma we had everything for cooking, powder for dishwasher and washingmaschine and shampoo for shower and we loved also using the big, nice and clean swimmingpool only a few footsteps nearby.
We had a great week in the villa. Everything was perfect in the house. We particularly enjoyed all the outside space. Front and back garden plus rooftop terrace let you enjoy the sun all day long. The house itself has everything you need for a nice stay. It's very quiet at night and the comfortable bed let you enjoy a good night sleep. Check in and check out were really easy. Julianne and her husband provided lots of valuable information about the area and tye house. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Alfredo is great host and was really helpful with providing directions and check-in details ahead of our stay. He kept in touch throughout our time here, offering to recommend activities, beaches and places to eat. He let us stay in the villa on out final day for as long as we needed which was perfect as we had an evening flight.
The Casa Encanto was a perfect choice for a family holiday! The place is situated in very calm surroundings, with access to an almost private pool (I think we were the only ones using it during our stay) and also free access to an Aquapark next to main hotel. The villa has a great garden to relax in the morning as well as facilities that make you feel at home (coffee machine, Netflix, etc.). Whenever we come back to Fuertaventura, we will easily choose Casa Encanto for our stay 🫶
amazing stay in a very well designed villa, with an ample room with all commodities and full of light. Owners weren't there but Katia made sure we have everything we needed. This is a perfect location as a base to explore the north of Fuerteventura. It is quiet but at the same time Lajares offers nice restaurants or you can just use the kitchen. We had a great time there and did not miss anything at all!
We chose Aqua Guest House when exploring north part of the island. It is located just few steps from the volcano, few km from the beaches and cities like El Cotillo and Corralejo. The apartment has everything that you need during your stay in Fuerteventura. There are places to eat next door and you can easily walk to the Lajares town. We really enjoyed it there.Thank you. :)
We were lucky finding some available days in this property. The hosts Pepe and Yaiza are very nice and helpful. The property itself is very pretty and functional. Amazing interior and exterior spaces. Right in the heart of Lajares. This is the first time we give a 10/10 for a property.
