Charming hotel a bit away from the town of Antequera but well worth the 30 min drive. Beautiful farmland around. Lovely area to be peaceful and quiet. But close to magnificent El Torcal for a day hike. Staff were all warm and extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us when we had car troubles. Breakfast was lovely and dinner was outstanding.

This is a fantastic small town hotel! Everything was perfect, sparkling clean, friendly staff, and literally right in the middle of town.
I guess the only thing to be improved was the breakfast. While the coffee was great (and delivered by an attentive staff member) the cold cuts weren’t a very creative breakfast and there wasn’t s a lot else offered, nothing hot (unless we heated it in the toaster).
But overall, and for the price… you can’t beat this wonderful hotel!

Friendly Pueblo Blanco town that’s easy to move through on foot or in car. It’s a central location to so much in Andalucía within 2-3 hours in a car, so you can spend a day in busy hectic Seville or Cordoba and sleep in peaceful Antequera.

Very friendly town.
Very friendly town. Recommend a guided tour to include the dolmens - we booked a combination tour of walking the town, visiting a chapel and a short ride in a 'micro bus' to the dolmens.
Buy cakes and pastries from a convent. Spend an evening in Bar Lola next to Plaza Coso Viejo for excellent food, friendly service and great atmosphere.
Antequera is an easy 45-minute drive from Málaga airport, so it's a great place to spend a couple of nights before heading off to explore Andalucía. Lots of free parking.

Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle. Also, you can visit dolmens (in the town) and El Torcal hiking area (nearby, some 20km maybe). The town seemed cozy during workdays and quite busy on Saturday with many people cruising the streets.

Antequera is a beautiful place with loads of churches and elaborate buildings. I could have done with another day here at least. I also never got to sample the food so I will definitely need to come back.

A cosy town, not too small, not too large.
A cosy town, not too small, not too large. The megalithic burial tomb complex dating back to Neolithic- Bronze Age (Dolmen de Menga, Dolmen de Vieta) is within walking distance from city center. Our main reason to visit Antequera was to see these 5000-6000 years old burial tombs. We loved the city.

It’s a beautiful city! Very antiquated very medieval.
It’s a beautiful city! Very antiquated very medieval.
The downtown area was wonderful with many restaurants and shops and bars.
The castle and church on the hill were spectacular! The areas surrounding the city is unbelievably beautiful.
Excellent quality food, clean throughout. Helpful friendly staff.
An area of few tourist so little English spoken. A good base for exploring Andalusia and to the town of Antequera is charming with many good clothe shops, restaurants and bars, beautiful architecture and clean well maintained streets and public gardens.
As typical English travellers we would have appreciated tea making facilities in our hotel room but that really was our only disappointment.
We would recommend the parador and hope to return soon
The modern apartment is in a monumental building with an absolutely gorgeous and impressive stairway. Centrally located, the old town and main street is just a few steps away. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful hostess who had a good sense of humor and was at our disposal anytime we needed anything. Be sure to visit the La Perla factory just behind the building (you can see it from the living room / bedroom window) to buy some of Antequera’s world famous Xmas biscuits, mantecados and alfajores.
Initially I was extremely disappointed by the overall look of the hotel, the reception area especially.
It has an air of some of the old hotels of Spain’s past with many authentic framed historic photos of street life in Antequera, and of El Torcal and the ancient dolmans, and many unique fixtures and fittings…which have the hotel its individual character. Many of these old Hostals have gone or been turned into “boutique” hotels, lacking in any individuality, so a refreshing change.
Breakfast was lovely, typical Spanish buffet, the food was of good quality and quantity. Waitress provided the drinks was quick, polite and cheerful. The breakfast room was clean fresh and light. Whilst the room was very clean and fresh it was plain and lacked character, this wasn’t a problem and I know others wouldn’t worry and in no way is a criticism of the hotel, as a base for exploring it is ideal as the hotel is in a good position.
Great location and despite speaking very little English they really did their best to help us and give us details for our visit, friendly and kind. We had a hire car and it was great to be able to book a parking spot in advance and so close to the hotel.
We read the reviews of this Hotel and decided to stay as it was in our budget, so despite it not being 4 star or where we would usually stay we got what we paid for.
We very much enjoyed our one-night stay. A building with interesting and appealing character. Rooms modern and clean. The restaurant was good, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Best of all, however, was the excellent sports facility attached to the hotel where we had unlimited access to 4 padel courts, an excellent swimming pool and all the weight training equipment you would find in a serious gym.
Location in the hub of everything was fantastic. But morning traffic woke us at 6am. Hotel has a restaurante / cafe but the smell pervaded everywhere, which was a bit unpleasant. We realised late that we had no towels in our room so took one from the corridor - a member of staff chased us up the street accusing us of stealing the hotel towels from our room.. embarassing!
We actually stayed for three nights the town is lovely plenty to see. We changed rooms after the first night to one with a window over the court yard. The typical Andalusian court yard is lovely to sit in. The hotel is in a good location in the centre of the town but easy to get to from the bus station.
Felt like an old mansion, that had been turned into a hotel. Nice atmosphere, practical location to hit the road early next morning. The cafeteria was actually very nice! Big portions of well made, no nonsense food and super friendly staff!
The hotel is in the centre of town so easy to reach the monuments and churches. We were given good advice about free parking even though the hotel sells parking spaces in its own carpark. We were able to get into our room early.
Very Helpful staff, nice room & balcony. Very gd hotel dinner ( recommend swordfish). Close enough to Antequera (drive not walk) and free parking overnight, avoiding parking issues in the town.
Was near the highway, good for a quick stop (near El Torcal de Antequera)
Nice big room (we took the Deluxe suite) for only a few extra pounds
little fruit seller next to the hotel
Very clean and comfortable room. Staff was very friendly. We did not use the pool or terrace (wrong season). Antequera is a vibrant and interesting city that is well worth a visit.
Everything about Fuente del Sol is perfect. We come back everytime we are in Spain and it is always incredible - the views, food, staff, rooms - everything!
