The room was very comfortable with the sitting area a bonus. The owner was nice enough to switch our room so that we could have 2 beds instead of one. Parking is very easy. It is a convenient location to The Exernsteine but the town itself does not have anything to do. Beds were comfortable also.

This is a wonderful old historical hotel situated in a wooded are at the foot of a lot of hiking trails. The front desk person was a wonderful man who was incredibly accommodating given our late arrival, making an exception with regard to the late night menu and allowing us to relax from our long trip to go pick up a car in the next town over. The hotel itself is a like a throwback in time. It felt like we were back in the movie “Holiday Inn” with wonderful antique furniture, old photos on the wall, and great music from a time gone by. So much history within these walls yet the hotel room has all the modern conveniences and amenities. The grounds are beautiful and scenic with a lake leading into the hiking hills. A nice outdoor beer garden and lots of places to socialize or just isolate and relax.

Staff are wonderful. Very friendly and professional. From my arrival, Vivian made sure I felt welcome and more than just a customer. Other staff have the same approach. Other customers in the bar were good company - as a sole traveler, this can make a world of difference. Hotel zur Sportsbar is a local pub and full of life.
I asked and was given a secure lock-up for my motorbike.
It is a charming family run hotel in the middle of the forest. We had a wonderful and very big room with a balcony overlooking the small lake. The staff was super nice and I felt at home.
I hope they will not change a thing, it was very charming and I hope it stays like this forever, there are not many old fashioned (in a good way!) hotels like this anymore
The place is located in wooded area and astonishing location of old mills, by small lake and running streams. The house is full of romantic atmosphere. The room was equipped with everything you can think of for hotel room. Including free fruits drinks and sweets.
