The village is essentially a pleasant suburb, grouped around an interesting ruined castle. Convenient as a overnight stay for those heading to or from the Gotthard pass, or as a base for exploring the walking and other outdoor activities in the area.
A very cosy family run hotel situated in a small village. It is very small giving one a family like feeling and by its' size is very uncrowded.
It is very clean, the breakfast offers the the regular cheese, cold cuts, eggs, milk produce, bread, coffee, tea selection.
The hotels' restaurant offers local cuisine, a nice way to discover it.
The price, for Switzerland is quite reasonable.
We stayed here twice this year on our way to Italy and we already booked for our next journey.
Almost everything about this hotel felt ancient. The interior, staff/owners and the level of customer service feel like they haven't had an upgrade in the last 50 years at least. Our room was out of range of the wifi router, so we had to go halfway through the hall to even send an email. The breakfast and view from the breakfast room were great and the beds were comfortable enough.
We ran late due to traffic jams and the hosts were exceptionally kind and served us even though the kitchen was shutting. The Hotel Krone is an excellent and well sited pit stop if you are travelling through Switzerland and we would stay here again if it was an over night stop.
The room is spacious, the bed is ok, and the private bathroom also has all the necessary amenities. The hotel provided parking, and the breakfast was good with an incredible view to the surrounding mountains.
Nice little hotel conveniently located at walking distance of the gondolas. Do not expect any kind of luxury or stylish decorum, but rooms are spacious and the neighbourhood is very calm.
A great hotel located near Altdorf, ideally located for exploring the high alpine passes south of here. I've stayed here twice before so was happy to return and use the facilities again.
Well priced local hotel great for touring the surrounding mountain passes. Dinners in the restaurant were great with traditional local food. Car park available for cars and motorcycles
