We took the ferry as foot passengers from Digby.
We took the ferry as foot passengers from Digby. There is a good taxi service from the ferry terminal. St John offers interesting walks (the reversing rapids is a good day trip on foot), a buzzing nightlife. It's an industrial city with interesting old buildings. Unfortunately the museum is closed indefinitely - hopefully that will be resolved.

It is a beautiful and interesting city.
It is a beautiful and interesting city. We didn't have time to explore much in the city, as we spent more time exploring along the coast. We enjoyed visiting the sea caves, the Bay of Fundy Trail, and the Reversing Falls.

It is a nice town with a lot of history.
It is a nice town with a lot of history. There are some nice places to walk along the water and the reversing falls are cool (best to have a car to visit since you have to go twice a day to get the full effect) We went to two nice restaurants when we were there, and we enjoyed wandering around the container village, the market. Billy's seafood was really good.
There is a bit of a homelessness issue. There are many people who are homeless who seem to mill around the city. We had a number of people yell at us as we walked and it was not pleasant.

The microbrewery/pubs were great.
The microbrewery/pubs were great. The downtown area is interesting. It is an industrial city. We went to the reversing falls. The center is across the street from the Irving Pulp and Paper factory. A bit disappointing.

We loved Saint John a lot . The people are very friendly.
We loved Saint John a lot . The people are very friendly. We also loved looking at the old buildings around town . The reversing falls are a must see ! We'll be back to stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites as well . Their staff are super friendly ,and a sweet young lady helped me find the perfect beach ⛱ great experience
Carl and Jim and the Mahagony Manor were a real find. Sitting out on the front porch in the evening for conversation made us feel at home. They are both warm and delightful and an integral part of Saint John which allowed us to have a insightful understanding of the gifts of of the community. Extra perks included being able to book amazing massages by Carl and have access to laundry. Great food, wonderfully quiet and within walking distance of everything. We'll definitely return there.
This is gorgeous place. It is beautifully decorated and combines historic and comfortable in a beautiful way. The room was very spacious and the bathroom is enormous. Breakfast deserves a special praze, as it was both delicious and beautifully served.
The Widow's Watch is nicely furnished for you to have a relaxing time with a cup of tea and views of Saint John.
location was superb, nearby food venues - outstanding, short walk to downtown area and nightlife. Accomodations slightly outdated but room was clean and comfortable, relatively quiet and not overly busy. Only issue would of been parking and a bit of confusion as to how to get back to Hotel lobby. Better signage would help.
Great location, walkable to all of historic Uptown Saint John.
Lots of light and nice view with large windows in the living/dining area.
All basic needs provided with added kitchen spices, condiments, coffee & tea.
Easy access to our parked car by the rear door. Spacious.
Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Perfect location close to everything in Saint John. Great service tracking us down after we accidentally left a bag in the room. Chipman Hill is saving old buildings throughout Saint John, so staying here helps support historic preservation.
Holiday Inn Express is much like any other branded chain. Clean and comfortable. It is a 'dependable' as opposed to either a delight or a disaster. The Saint Johns New Brunswick staff were terrific. Warm and welcoming.
Everything at this hotel is excellent. The breakfast and waitress there is awesome. We have stayed here before and will continue to do so every time we are in the area. Lovely rooms and great value for money.
There is no breakfast at the facility. The location is too far from Saint John City with no eateries nearby. It is a below-average facility far from even the committer bus stop. The showers had cold water.
Such fantastic hosts - so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about Saint John. Excellent location in the old town area. Gorgeous and opulent home! First B&B stay in a long time and it was fantastic!
THE BREAKFAST WAS FINE. THE FAMILY GROUP WAS SATISFIED. THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE FACILITY COULD BE IMPROVED WITH A LITTLE UPDATING, BUT WE NOTICED THE HOTEL HAD BEGUN THAT PROCESS.
This hotel is located nicely in the downtown area of St. John within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. The hotel has convenient access to the motorway to get around the area.
Great location in downtown Saint John. A nice older home with antique furnishings and accents. Although a short walk to everything, the place was very quiet.
