Lodge Bordeaux features a heated outdoor pool, a barbecue pavilion and an in-room breakfast service. A 5-minute drive from Whangarei’s city centre, it offers free unlimited WiFi.

Fully air-conditioned, the self-contained rooms have a full kitchen with a microwave, a fridge and a stove. The seating area comes with a DVD player and a flat-screen TV with some satellite channels. All bathrooms include underfloor heating and most rooms have a spa bath.

Easy access, and even though on the highway, it was quiet. Quick check-in. Shared laundry, but we arrived just in time to get a load done. Our apartment actually looked better than the photos, the kitchen was functional with enough equipment to make a little dinner. We had a spa bath, which we didn't have time to use, but loved that towel warmer. We found a classical music station on the TV! It's nice they provide real milk for your coffee or for hot chocolate with your cookies.

Looking for a cabin?

For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.

Angela was awesome. Met us at reception and showed us to our cabin. She was nice, bubbly and super friendly. That's the kind if welcome you want. The cabin was clean, really comfy and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and it had lots of extra warm blankets. It also had Sky TV which was awesome, and rare at accommodations these days. Overall a good stay.

Very roomy, quirky little cottage. Looks like it's been build out of old porta-cabins so is perhaps a bit dated but everything works just fine and it's equipped to a high standard (good fridge/freezer, full size range etc.) Outdoor seating and barbecue a bonus.

We’ll set up kitchen although no wall plug for the electric jug, had to plug in in lounge! Bathroom/toilet area good. Place was very clean. Decor and cabinetry very dated and in need of maintenance. Manager and staff helpful when we couldn’t get wifi to work.
