I loved my stay at Fantail Garden! The property is gorgeous - beautiful gardens, terraces and decks. The apartment itself is spacious, and the breakfast that was provided was good. Excellent wifi. The owners are lovely - I wish I would've booked two nights instead of just one!

The Red Shed is a recently renovated guest house in Matamata, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable, plenty of amenities (good water pressure in the shower was heaven after some other places we've stayed on our trip!). Quiet, peaceful area, a brisk walk from downtown. Excellent host who went out of her way to meet our needs. Cute alpacas were a bonus! Would absolutely stay here again.

House was large, well appointed and very quiet. The bed was firm and the most comfortable I had slept on during our trip. Location is convenient to town, with a car, and to Hobbiton. We enjoyed our one night's stay here.

Matamata Central Motel is a 20-minute drive from the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm Tours, where parts of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were being filmed. Location is the best - right next to New World Supermarket and just about 15 min drive to the Hobbiton

Entire house was super clean, cosy and comfortable.The breakfast had many options and we loved it, especially those cookies.So thoughtful of you to keep ready to noodles packets, pasta ans fruit tins.Loved the experience.
