Offering an outdoor pool and views of the pool, WelcomHeritage Shivavilas Palace, HAMPI is situated in Hospet. The Hotel is just 15 minutes from the Jindal Vidyanagar Airport. Breakfast was very tasty. Homely. Services excellent. Fresh fruits, nicely cooked food, the Ginger Tea smoothened our throat. Room service was very quick. The quality of food is awesome. Nice museum. Highly knowledgeable and helpful Manager Mr. Joseph. Very efficient Front Desk Manager Ms. Tejaswini. The entire staff are affable. Nicely kept garden. Variety of Birds sighted. It is a good place for Botanists to learn more about exotic and local species. The proud thing is the State Tree of Karnataka, Sandalwood Trees - santalum album - are naturally grown. An idyllic place for stay and enjoy.

I had a great stay at Mango Tree Homestay. The staff was very friendly and were able to check me in as soon as I arrived, even though it was hours before check-in. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and full of character. Overall a great value. Lakshmi, the proprietor made great dosas each morning, and Mustafa, the auto rickshaw driver, made exploring the surrounding ruins a breeze. I was actually most impressed with Mango Tree by something that happened after I checked out. I had just sat down to eat lunch at a restaurant when I suddenly began to feel very sick. Mustafa took be back to the hotel, stopping on the way to pick up some rehydration drinks. Lakshmi set up a bed for me even though I had already checkout out, and since I was having stomach trouble, even prepared a simple bowl of rice and curd (yogurt). They made a potentially difficult and dangerous situation far more manageable. This is the sort of treatment you'll never get at a big hotel or resort.

The whole place is in a huge well kept garden with hamocs and sitting opportunities. The restaurant has a beautiful outside sitting area and the breakfast buffet has a lot to offer for the cheap price. The staff is always helpful and available (but it is sometimes a bit of a riddle who is responsible for which thing...)
