We loved staying at Abacatus Farmhouse. The pool was great. It was easy to find using google maps, a short drive into Tavira, and to Tavira Island. Our suite had everything we needed, very comfortable. Sani is an excellent host who provided a delicious breakfast and was very helpful with everything we needed.

Ancão Gardens is a private residential area located in the beautiful Ancão Village Resort, offering 13 luxurious villas for holiday rentals. There are 12 three-bedroom villas, each equipped with modern amenities and access to a shared pool. In addition, there is one four-bedroom villa with a private pool for guests who seek a more exclusive experience. This is a perfect spot for a family who is looking to be away from the busy tourist spots but still close to the beach and sightseeing destinations. Tucked away on a private street, the townhomes are multi level buildings, thereby giving teenagers, parents and grandparents enough privacy yet plenty of space also to be together. Kitchen was well equipped, bed linens crispy white, pool right there. While we didn’t use them, they also have tennis courts. Having a car is a must. I’d even recommend driving to the beach (in October parking was not an issue) and then walking along the huge, expansive beach.

The holiday home features 3 bedrooms, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a fully equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher and an oven, a washing machine, and 1 bathroom with a bidet. Towels and bed linen are featured in the holiday home. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. The outdoor facilities, especially the rooftop patio. Location was quiet at night. The grocery store was close and had a good selection (but watch the store hours as it closes at 7 pm and 1 pm on Sundays). The train station is a 7-10 minute walk. Downtown within 10-15 minutes. The beach can be reached by boat (our choice) or bus.

Cute three-level house with lovely/fabulous terrace overlooking the rooftops of the old town. Beds comfortable. Very quiet (except for barking dog early in the morning, but that can't be helped). Great shower with good water pressure. Very clean, even under the beds. We were four females traveling together and spacewise it was very comfortable for all of us, especially since it had two toilets. Great location in the old part of town. We were a short walk to all the activity. Despite the odd decor (read below), the apartment was actually nice, which is why we are giving it high points. We want to give the owner the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was trying to make the apartment feel larger with so many mirrors and a false door? Maybe she had a morbid but harmless sense of humor with her book displays and artwork? Or maybe she had a non-English speaking decorator?
