The majestic Goodrich Castle ruin (English Heritage) is in the village, and emergency supplies can be picked up in the next village on the A road, Morrisons, Sainsburys or Aldi in Ross. We used the cottage as a base to kayak on the rapids at Symonds Yat a very short 5 min drive away (we launched at Wyedean Adventure - pay for parking and launching). We also did a short 2 hour river trip from the public park at the Hope and Anchor, Ross on Wye down to the Parish Canoe Launch at Kerne Bridge (in the village not at the bridge) with the added bonus of a regular morning public bus service shuttle back to Ross from just outside the launch. It is usually possible to paddle upstream from all three points. Other attractions are available, including walks along the Wye. Location in the center of village
Wonderful, rural location. Lovely outlook. Comfortable and cozy. Good TV options (Olympic watching was great). Big fridge and freezer. We cooked several meals with no problems. Dishwasher and washing machine was great. Also, the easy access to many "Black and White" villages was great. The fact that there weren't many tourists around was icing on the cake.
Accommodation is in a charming wooded building behind a quaint pub. The room was very nice, clean, with a large, comfortable bed. The village is very picturesque set in lovely green countryside. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The host was very helpful and obliging throughout our stay.
It was quiet, a very pretty setting, rooms were luxurious, dinner delicious & staff friendly & respectful
Lovely solo retreat in the Malvern hills. Bernie was a wonderful host and a fabulous cook. It was a great place to rest and relax in nature.
Good location next to a picturesque river in a lovely village. Delightful staff. Good food. Free parking. Very good value.
Stunning location. Very quiet. Perfect place to recharge your batteries. Great period property with nice garden you can walk around. Lovely host Nicola. Greeted with home made cakes. The village isn’t too far from Leominster, Hereford and Ludlow. 20 min drive to Leominster and Hereford. Lots of wildlife to see when you’re out and about. A very nice place. Would recommend if you want a quiet retreat. If you like Blackpool promenade and everything that goes with it this probably isn’t the place for you.
Friendly and welcoming. Beautiful features. Room was big and very luxurious. The bed was so comfortable! No indoor or outside noise could be heard. Everything was to hand and the property is close to the Town Centre. Parking was no problem. Gorgeous breakfast with a variety of foods available. Highly recommend staying here. Fantastic value for money with all the luxury at a low price.
A beautiful old, beamed, coaching Inn but with plenty of modern, luxurious touches, such as feather down bedding, Nespresso machine, and chocolate, luxury toiletries and even a rubber duck. Very well proportioned room. Will definitely stay again.
