This is one of the best guest houses I have ever visited! The rooms were really stylish with big and comfy beds, the kitchen had every sort of tool you need to prepare a tasty dinner, the terrace had a wonderful view. The house is situated in a really peaceful region in the hills and it is certainly one of those places where you can take a glass of wine, watch the sunset and take some time for yourself. We had spacious room, very functional and with a balcony. The pool is great and there is a lot of space inside the villa. We liked the breakfast and the stuff was kind and friendly.
the Astoria (this was my second time) is a fine example of a boutique hotel of when Hotels were a luxury. It's like being in a movie: fantastic! The huge salon downstairs is one of the coziest places ever: please o not change (almost) a thing.
Lovely, relaxed stay, if you want to enjoy the flair of a beautiful town villa with character features in short walking distance, 15 to 20 minutes, to the busy centre of Coimbra. I always had chosen the route through the magnificent Botanical Garden, inspiring and refreshing.
The house is magnificent, the room and bathroom were spacious, spotless and luxurious. Antonio is a wonderful host who gave us an informative tour of his beloved and delightful Bonzai garden. He made us feel more like family than guests and served us a marvellous breakfast!
The historical setting and the very large and beautiful park surrounding the property is unmatched. The view from the room of the historical city and the University is stunning. The very large pool area gives a resort feel. Very intimate bar with excellent selection of cocktails. Plenty of parking on the property. The scent throughout the hotel is lovely. Very professional service from all staff. The linen is luxurious and super soft.
We were lucky to have stayed in a room with great view of the city. The hotel is located on a hill close to the Botanical Garden and to the University of Coimbra. So it goes without saying you need a bit of fitness for going up the hill, but that is Portugal.The hotel is quiet and located in a nice mansion. Breakfast was good, unfortunately not earlier than 7am.
Very luxurious and comprehensive amenities! We especially like that the TV was able to connect to Netflix and other streaming services. The jacuzzi tub was perfect after a long day of walking up and down hill, on the beautiful streets and alleys of Coimbra. The view from our room was just magnificent!! The breakfast was served to us in our room, which only added to the luxury. Everything about the stay was perfect! If there's a vacancy, book it! Don't hesitate!
