We spent a wonderful family holiday week here in peace and quiet. The stone house is very atmospheric and comfortable with all the necessary amenities, and also has its own pool, where you can cool off until late at night looking at the starry sky 👌 The location was perfect for us, within a few minutes drive are Vrboska, Jelsa and Stari Grad, and just around the corner is a grocery store and the excellent Konoba Bogo. Extremely calm location, you really need a car as it's a bit away from Stari Grad and it's hilly (and hot!). A really relaxing way to see Hvar Island - Stari Grad is a nice town and you can easily get to some nice out of the way beaches. The house is really well equipped - you have everything you need and you can have lovely meals in the garden by the pool which is small but most welcome (and you can sit and watch the swifts dive-bombing the pool)!

Outstanding location, front door is 10m from the sea! Waking up to the sound of the sea and with this breathtaking view is priceless. The villa was very clean and comfortable for our group. We enjoyed the different seating areas outside and being so close to the sea. It was like having your own private beach. Rooms are furnished to high standards, bathrooms spacious, pool with outdoor terraces where we spent most of the time. The hosts, Margarita and Mario, were very friendly and helped immediately with anything. Property is well taken care of and maintained with love and care. We had a great time at Villa Mendes and if opportunity arises, we will gladly return. I would definitely recommend a car or a boat for transport. Great restaurant nearby, local dishes, fresh fish, meat, pizzas...

The house is away from the hustle and bustle of Hvar but everything is accessible from here. Located in a quaint village with authentic restaurants nearby, an idyllic setting. The renovated farm house is authentic but meets all your needs. The optional breakfast is a must if you desire traditional and Croatian cuisine. Spacious and beautifully appointed there is room for everyone here. The pool and historical tour adds another dimension. We will definitely return.
