This was our last stop on this 20-day trip to Greece, as my husband had a fall before we left and needed to be hospitalized for an emergency surgery, so it ended up being just me, my mother, and my two children. What touched me most was that when I spoke to Malia about this difficulty, she enthusiastically took on the task of being our driver and tour guide, and on the first day took us around the nearby village of Marathon, the birthplace of the famous Battle of Marathon, and then to the supermarket, where she had actually prepared a very large amount of food and drinks for us in the fridge beforehand. In the evening she took us to a beach a little further away and ate the most famous Greek tacos in the area, which we were embarrassed that we didn't get to eat until the last two days! On the second and third day she similarly took us to another, much better beach nearby which had finer sand, turquoise blue water and was less crowded but lacking in everything, the locals stayed all day. Malia was also kind enough to order takeaway for us to save us money and get local specialties, which was really touching. The amazing villa is two-story, it's an old stone house with a lot of character. It's especially worth mentioning that each house is decorated differently and with decorative details everywhere, embroidered tablecloths, cross-stitched situations, braided rugs and so on, as well as little things that Malia has collected from all over the world, which all add to the cozy atmosphere of the house. The location is perfect, a five or six minute drive to the beach if you rent a car. The villa is quiet, the yard has beautiful delphiniums and unknown cactus-like plants, and the hammocks and swings are a favourite of the kids. It's not a popular tourist destination, but it was our favourite place on the trip. No crowds or souvenir stores, just a welcoming landlord and a beautiful house that allowed us to live the vacation life of a local.

The apartment we stayed at was roomy yet very cosy, and spotlessly clean, so we felt right at home. It is furnished to comfortably accommodate families of up to six people, with plenty of beds, sofas, and two large dinner tables (one in the main room, one in the winter garden), plus a terrace area with outside seating, beach chairs, and swinging chairs. The kitchen is well-equipped (stove, oven, microwave, large fridge, kettle), providing enough plates, cutlery, and utensils to allow cooking your own meals (or ordering in without having to eat straight out of the containers). Clotheslines on the porch make it easy to dry beach towels and bathing suits over night. Wi-Fi and air conditioning worked flawlessly. Soap, shampoo, towels, and extra blankets are provided. For guests travelling with children, there are ample toys available for all ages, including board games. There are several apartments on the property, but they are generously spaced, so each of them is nicely secluded. Parking is right outside. The surrounding area is quiet, peaceful, and—according to the host—absolutely safe (which matches our experience). A 5-minute drive gets you to the beach. Communication with the host, George, was swift and easy. Ahead of our stay, he made sure we would have no trouble finding the place, and was very accommodating regarding the check-in time. When we arrived, he welcomed us with open arms and fresh fruit (of which he provided more the next day!), showed us around the apartment and property, and helped us settle in. George is one of the warmest, most hospitable people we have had the pleasure of encountering during our journeys. Friendly, kind, knowledgeable about the area (his beach recommendation was spot-on), and happy to make his guests’ stay as pleasant and special as possible, always with a smile. Mrs. Isidora's house is wonderful, absolutely nothing to complain about. The view from the terrace is gorgeous. The big boy was delighted to see the windsurfers while having breakfast on the terrace and the little boy enjoyed the playpen for babies. The beach is a stone's throw away. For finer sand and cleaner water, we walked along the beach for about 5 minutes. The rooms are spacious, the mattress in the matrimonial bed is very comfortable. The extraordinary sofa in the living room, you can rest there while looking at the sea. The kitchen is equipped with everything, maybe too much for vacation. I really liked the glass door from the living room that opens wide, so you have the big one close. Also, the window-shutters in the master bedroom give the impression of a story. The food in the area is ok. You can find several varieties. The prices are ok. Even though we was at the beginning of June, the weather was very suitable for families with children. Warm, but not too warm. The water was also good, to go in for a few minutes.

The views, private pool, pool chairs and all the interior spaces were incredible. Decoration was great and you really get your moneys worth here. We were excited to travel around a little bit but loved it so much we basically never left the villa.

As a rented villa, it was self-catered. However, there were a variety of coffees, snacks, refreshments, fruits, honey, etc The peaceful, quiet, vast panoramic view, the mature garden and the ample space, plus an extra shower facility in the garden offered us an amazing experience!! The hosts were excellent; friendly, efficient and helpful!!!

This was the top floor of a villa with its own entrance and opening out onto a beautiful rear garden and spacious patio. The villa was very well-equipped, comfortable, spacious and modern. The owners (who live below) were very friendly and helpful, and there was some food waiting for us, which was very thoughtful. The location was lovely, and near good beaches and the local town. We will return to explore the area further, and hope to book this villa again!
