A 14th century structure, full of character. Room was spacious and very clean, same goes for the bathroom. Location is sort of right in the centre of Lake District. A pretty little village away from the main towns(and tourists:) Windermere and Ambleside 35-40 mins drive. Same for Rydal fall and Rydal cave. Aira force waterfall is about an hour away. Coniston waterfall is 20 mins drive. So overall a pretty decent location.

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners, we were made very welcome. The bed was really comfortable and the bedding was luxurious. Mini fridge in the room was a bonus.

This is a nice pub with rooms above it, the room was neat and tidy, breakfast was really good and evening meals were great too. The location is handy for walks from the property and 5 minute drive to Coniston. The staff were all friendly and helpful even though they were run off their feet at busy times. Free parking at the front and in the car park behind so no messing about hunting for spaces like when staying in more central towns/villages in The Lakes.

The room was comfortable and clean - bathroom is quite small but ok for a weekend stay. The location is good as we doing the Coniston 14 race so way to get into the village. We also ate at the Wilson Arms on Saturday night. The food is always really lovely.
