It was exactly what we were looking for, a comfortable place to stay with our dog within easy reach of Barnard Castle for the May Meet. It was easy to access, great comms from the manager, beautifully decorated, well equipped, and the dog had his own room (the kitchen!) Staindrop is a lovely village and the cottage had a pleasant outlook.

Nice scenic location just outside a small village but with amenities within a couple of miles and plenty of attractions within thirty minute's drive or so. We found the cottage spacious for six plus a dog, and found it well equipped for our needs. The upside-down layout gives really nice views from the lounge windows.

We wanted a quiet village for new year. Staindrop is bigger than expected, but very pleasant, with village greens and a stream running along the outskirts. We went to walk our dogs and there are loads of places nearby, although most are a short drive. The village itself has little in the way of amenities, but Barnard Castle is very close. The property is ideal, well equipped, nice modern feel and a good layout. I had no idea County Durham was so beautiful.
