Skerrow, hotel in New Galloway

Located just 38 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club, Skerrow provides accommodation in New Galloway with access to a terrace, barbecue facilities, as well as bicycle parking.

Skerrow is like a hidden paradise garden tucked away behind a small shop in the beautiful small burgh of New Galloway. We had a wonderfully peaceful holiday at Skerrow. The cottage is bright, clean and comfortably furnished. There were lots of welcome added touches to make sure we had everything we needed. New Galloway is nestled in beautiful countryside with a wealth of lochs and places of interest. It is a very friendly village with a very friendly village cat, a community shop, post office and community arts centre. I look forward to returning.

Stroan, hotel in New Galloway

Located 38 km from Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club and 40 km from Dumfries and County Golf Club, Stroan provides accommodation situated in New Galloway.

The Stroan is very homely The furniture and fittings are all of a high standard The location in New Galloway is quite isolated But I chose it for that reason Some nice rural locations to visit Shop downstairs is really well stocked and is priced reasonably with great friendly service from the ladies who work there

Well thought out apartment with modern feel in traditional setting. All spotlessly clean and well maintained. Good heating and hot water. Great garden area (though I understand it is a community garden). The adjacent Community Village shop is lovingly cared for and very well stocked. Good arrival instructions and getting the keys couldn't be easier.

Lovely old hotel in the middle of the village. I called in & asked if I could drop off heavy rucksack & the proprietor Susan said I could check in early. She was very nice to chat with & so helpful. Comfy room & bed, good shower. Everything I needed. Big breakfast. I had a great walk down to Kenmure Castle - fascinating, spooky place in beautiful surroundings (see my photo). Could have very happily stayed for a week!

Sumptuous arts and crafts house with lovely interior and well kept grounds. Everything was quality from the furniture bedding and Spode crockery to the large lounge with comfy chairs. Breakfast couldn't have been better with nothing too much trouble. Add the beautiful rolling countryside and lovely little village with community shop, post office and cafe/theatre. A new part of the uk for us and well worth the visit.

The attention to detail was exceptional. Even the logs in the bedroom fireplace were uniform. Rooms were beautiful as was the tranquility of the garden. A lovely community village to walk around. Wonderful hosts.

I visited this hotel, near to the two beautiful Galloway villages of New Galloway and Dalry, as part of doing the Southern Upland Way and it was a good, comfortable option for this stage of the route. The building is a characterful old 18th century inn in a beautiful riverside setting.

A beautiful house set in in lovely grounds with views of the surrounding countryside. The location provides easy access to many neighbouring villages. Our hostess was friendly and helpful and provided an excellent breakfast of cold and hot options. I hope we get the opportunity to come back one day!
