It was a delightful county cottage within a lovely village setting. The cottage was very welcoming and we found it fully equipped for our needs. Our trip was to visit the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for the Santa Special, this cottage was an excellent base.
A lovely, peaceful, private, well-appointed, very comfortable apartment. Welcomed by a helpful friendly host. Located in a beautiful peaceful village with a very nice pub and easy access to moors and countryside. Excellent.
This house is very close to a cute and picturesque village and so close to several walks on the moors. Alice is a fantastic host and she can’t do enough to help you. Our room was great with a spectacular view and a super comfortable bed. We felt like at home and breakfast is amazing, it kept us going all day. When we were leaving we felt like we were saying goodbye to a family member and will definitely go back again.
Very much a “country farmhouse” in both location and character; during the day you’ll see and hear sheep and geese.. and at night bats and owls. Views are amazing in any direction, and walks are on your doorstep. The village and its pub and facilities are only a few minutes walk either by road or across the fields.
The bedrooms are spacious and the bed we had was massive. Breakfast was excellent, and Alice provided gluten free bread as well as excellent cakes - so as good as it gets.
Beautiful house with tea & cake by the fire always ready for us. Views over remote surrounding countryside, with a quaint village 2mins drive away. Breakfast was huge. Good value also.
