Second time we have stayed at this property. My dad is a wheelchair user and the whole property is designed with a wheelchair user in mind without making it overly obvious. Great location, parking, washing machine and welcome pack. We'll definitely be booking for a 3rd time!

A picture perfect location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good beer all made for a fantastic weekend. We used the hotel as a base for a long weekend to climb Haystacks (wow), wonder at the majesty of scale force waterfall and to take the bus to Keswick. The weather was less than kind but the warm welcome, great food and well stocked bar gave us a base to retreat to and dry out.

We rested here after climbing Scaffell Pike. The hotel had everything we needed to recover from the long hike. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the shower/bath had luxurious toiletries. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the room rate. It was a tasty and generous portion. Thank you for the perfect stay!

The location is excellent. Many walks straight from the door and a short walk to village facilities. Staff and guests really friendly. We had breakfast on both mornings which was well prepared and plentiful. Beds very comfortable and plenty of hot water.

Meeted our expectations, decent room, living area, toilets and shower. The kitchen was good, but not as good as other YHAs in Cumbria, although did have areas to store your food in the fridge and cupboard. Felt a little run down but didn't effect our stay. Great location for walks galore and quiet enough away from the village too. Was happy with our stay here, and lovely staff too. Great value for money.

Lovely house set in a stunning location. Clean, warm and very well-equipped. Just a couple of minutes walk to the village where there are two cafes and two pubs that serve food. The benefits of being off the beaten track outweigh the downside that the nearest shop is about 6 miles away.
