Perfect holiday home, very cosy and has everything you need. Super clean. The beds were comfortable and we slept great. Loved the garden for my dog. Very close to local town and shops, we enjoyed exploring the local area and further afield in the beautiful Peak District. Host was super friendly with good communication. There’s a busy road outside but it’s not loud at night, ear plugs were provided in case of disturbances but we didn’t need these, the host thought of it all. We really enjoyed our stay and will be booking again!

We were looking for a cottage with a fireplace/wood stove and bath located in a small village. We got exactly what we looked for plus we got incredible trails right outside our door! I went on a jog around the village and through the trails. This is how I learned about Jimmy's Café at the church every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Such a sweet tiny village and so close to everything in the Peak District!
This was our second stay at Penny Cottage. We really love it for the location, comfort and value. It’s right in the village and walking tracks straight from cottage. It is really well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds and furniture. Right opposite one good pub, the Kings Head, and a short walk to the other fantastic pub, The Barley Mow.

The cottage was very comfortable and had a very well equipped kitchen with a fill size fridge freezer. You can get breakfast and lunch in the Fountain cafe up the road in the village which caters for gluten free. Some nice walks from the cottage.
Lovely cosy cottage. Arrived on a cold wet evening & the owner made sure the heating was on before we got there. Well-equipped kitchen. Great having 2 en-suites. Great location with walks straight from the village.
Very comfortable and well equipped and in a pretty and interesting village. We were a party of three adults (one couple and one solo) so having two en-suite bathrooms was great. The open plan kitchen/diner also worked well, and just enough space outside to have an evening drink. We can also recommend the Kings Head which is within walking distance. We were only there one night so didn’t get chance to explore the many nearby footpaths, but looks like there are some good walks straight out the door.
