This property is extremely well equipped with all you need and far more besides. We enjoyed the large garden and the peace and quiet, but also the proximity to the village, enabling us to walk in rather than have to use the car.

Excellent cottage. We stayed in the 3 bed property. Great new beds and bedding. Very comfortable. Everything you needed and more for a self catering stay. Children loved all the games indoors and outdoors. The pools were excellent and never had to share, very private. We loved having a coffee or glass of wine at the pool while our children played.
Best wine tasting tour for families we thought was Chateau Rivière only 1 hour away. Great cave tour. We visited Dune du Pilat, Oleron, cognac, st Emillion and Bordeaux from here. Wonderful. The family are lovely too. Very helpful and friendly.

The owners met my parents on arrival and showed them around the premises. Everything was as stated on the website, or even better. It clearly is an old/vieux house and therefore a bit dark, filled with trinkets and (how lovely!) hundreds of English/French books. Very spacious and super clean.
Almost every bedroom having its own bathroom was a huge plus, as were the washing machine (children are messy) and literally piles of extra bath towels and bed linens in a walk-in closet. The kitchen has everything one may need, including dishwasher tablets, kitchen towels (a pet peeve of mine), enough pots and pans to cook for the village of Deviat.
The garden is gorgeous, and the covered patio with a 20 person dining table brilliant. We had a long list of all the churches and wineries we'd visit, but we spent all our time on the terrace, sitting in those oddly comfortable office chairs, enjoying the children playing in the large yard.
We booked this house because of the private pool and it was wonderful. Heated (against a small, agreed on fee), easy to get into/out of, clean, some pool toys, private.
The owner, a British lady named Carol, always responded promptly to my questions, and my parents and sister had a blast chatting with her and her partner. Although they live in the neighbouring house, we had complete privacy. The photo was taken from the largest bedroom, facing the garden and pool. A small bit of the covered patio is visible.
Perfect for families, groups or couples who enjoy luxury and independence while travelling. Enjoy the space and privacy of these fully-furnished, self-standing mansions — travellers can cook, lounge and explore at their leisure. Note that in Bali, a resort will also be called a villa.
It is really easy to get too from the motorway, on a road trip. The Village is quiet and you would feel safe with a car loaded up. There is off street parking behind the hotel. There is a pool table in the bar downstairs which would entertain the kids/ adults, there is also a tabac and sweetshop located downstairs too.
Very friendly staff in an old and quaint stone property in a quiet village. Rural France as it should be with no frills. Good dinner at reasonable price.
The hotel is in a small village with little else around. It has a bar that opens at 5pm and a restaurant. The staff were nice and the food and drink good.
This small hotel is a real blast from the past. Old fashioned decor and unprepossessing furniture disguise comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation. We and our dog were given the warmest of welcomes by the owners and we enjoyed a beautifully cooked meal in their small bar/restaurant. The village is close to the motorway and provided a thoroughly enjoyable stopover travelling north from Spain.
A few minutes off the motorway, a good place to stop on my journey north from Spain, Berneuil is a small, quiet village and le Saintongeais is a central point. Run by a very friendly family, with a spotless room and en-suite bathroom and a good restaurant, I found it the perfect place to break my journey.
