About Międzyzdroje

Including tips for the best time to visit Międzyzdroje

Międzyzdroje, also known as Misdroy in English, is a seaside resort on the island of Wolin that punches above its weight with its enviable location along the Baltic coast. You’ll find plenty of Poles and travellers flocking to this city during summers to enjoy the pleasantly warm climate, laid back vibe and most of all, its saline and mud baths.

Your holiday to Międzyzdroje is sure to be characterised by dramatic landscapes – from atmospheric beaches interrupted by tall cliffs to lush forests of Woliński National Park filled with the chirping of birds. At the national park, you can explore the network of scenic walking trails, spot the white-tailed eagle and spend some quiet time by any of its post-glacial lakes.

One of the biggest draws of this city is its main beach that welcomes beachgoers to walk barefoot along its sandy shores, play a game of volleyball and partake in some water sports. You can also head to its promenade to admire spectacular seascapes, dine at one of its many restaurants as well as stroll through the Międzyzdroje Walk of Fame that is studded with handprints and plaques for popular Polish celebrities.

It is a lovely small town.

It is a lovely small town. There are so much natural beauties around. The beach is super long and beautiful. The sunset and the sound of waves are therapeutic. During winter it is windy and cold but if you are prepared for it, it is lovely. Many nice restaurants and options. I would definitely go there again!

It is a really nice city with lovely beaches and very good restaurants and magnificent scenery. Restaurants will be closed mostly before 10 pm and there is not possibility to order food before 9:30 pm. But there are some small bars that you can order delicious sandwiches and some fast foods. Please be sure to try amazing ice cream in poland and also good wines. There is good facility like shower on the beach.

The best was the beach, surroundings and food prices, the worst was the lack of parking facilities outside the appartament building and the money exchange rate at Euronet cash automats. It would have been much better to have cash money from home and change it to local currency at an money exchange office.

A nice place to stay, but careful if you are travelling with a dog. We picked Miedzyzdroje to do hiking trips with our dog and because there were plenty of hiking trails going west, east and south of the town. The problem was that the Wolin National Park is all off limits to dogs, so our choice of routes was limited down to either risking a fine or walking along the few trails accessible to dogs. We did walk to the remains of the V-3 ramps just south of the town, took a tour of the Baltic miniature park - both very interesting. When our kids acted as dogsitters for our dog, we went to the Kawcza Gora stairway up the cliffs (fortunately we headed through the forest to the upper end of the staircase) to see the view and found the staircase closed down - we were glad not to pick the route up the stairs from the beach as we'd have to take a long detour to get to the upper end. The European bison enclosure looked nice, although we arrived too late and it was already closed. It's a pleasant walk along wide forest paths from the town. Most of the beach is also off limits to dogs, on the other hand, the entrances L to M that are dog-friendly beaches are one of the best beach stretches there are, and much less crowded. We can recommend the Zahir Kebab restaurant and takeaway close to the Miedzyzdroje pier (Molo) and the Wedzone Ryby (Smoked Fish) stall just west of the Molo at the next beach entrance - all great food.

It was my second time in Międzyzdroje, I love this small town, starting from the location, the friendly people, the sandy beach, shops, a lot of eating places to choose from, the national park. It's very easy to walk around. I recommend.

The beach is nice and clean, golden sand with small shells on the edge of the sea. Generally the town is a mixture of spa and sea resort. There are well maintained parks with flowers etc. Nice Oceanarium on the promenade. There is some restaurant on every corner, where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a Fun Park for children, Miniatures park, "train" around the city and other activities.
