With lush green landscapes, shimmering waters and an outstretched coastline, Sanur is just the right place if you wish to soak up the sun without the usual crowds of Bali. Be it enjoying views of the orange sunset, relaxing under the shade of palm trees or scuba diving to explore the world under the blue waters, Sanur is a magical land waiting to be explored.
There are a number of things to do in Sanur – the most obvious being touring its beaches. You can walk or pedal along the Cemara Beach, view an orange sunset at the Mertasari Beach, canoe at the Sindhu Beach or simply unwind at the Semawang Beach.
You can visit the Serangan Turtle Island to see the protected greenback turtles. If you're at the right time of the year, you'll be able to join an Olive ridley sea turtle release at Sanur Beach. For a bit of adventure during your Sanur trip, dive into the world of exciting water sports like surfing, snorkelling, parasailing and jet skiing. To add a more local touch to your trip, you can even ask a fisherfolk to take you around on a traditional boat. Round off your day of adventure by enjoying a hot plate of Nasi goreng at Sector Bar & Restaurant.
Located in the south-east coast of Bali, Sanur is located at an approximate distance of 12 km from the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar. You can get a taxi from the airport to Sanur.

Busy hub but with all amenities an easy walking distance.
25 June 2024
Busy hub but with all amenities an easy walking distance. Plenty of variety in restaurants, cafes and shops. Supermarket and department stores, laundry facilities, pharmacy, souvenir shops - all within easy reach of hotels. The local beach has many water sports activities available and tours leave the area daily for Ubud and other parts of Bali. A taxi ride to the airport is about 30 mins from Sanur.

We used the hotel as a atop over to get the ferry - it had quite a lot of quaint features we loved, but maybe not for people with major mobilty issues, steps to step over, thresholds, etc but the bungalows were really lovely and felt very traditional ...... pool quite shaded but lovely.

Unfortunately, our flight from Perth was cancelled so we lost 2 days/nights of our holiday but the trip was perfect besides that. The Hyatt also kindly refunded one night which they were not obliged to do but we thought was a very fair compromise. Easy to get around usually, but on this trip, the traffic outside of hotel was mental due to the grand opening of the new Bali Icon Shopping Mall just up the street and the hotel road was randomly closed at various times - which was a pain. Avoid Indonesian school holidays - the traffic is 10X worse according to drivers. We ate a lot in the hotel for convenience - family group of 16 with ages ranging from 2-62 so it worked well for us and everyone was happy. Pool is fantastic and again, ticked everyone's boxes. We had plenty of spa treatments outside of the hotel, but my favorite hands down was in the hotel spa - outstanding.

We loved how quiet it was here - shop keepers don't hassle you to look in their shops, they're happy for you to wander in if you want to. Food is affordable but not super cheap. Beach is quiet - no annoying sales people or endless jetskis or speed boats. No waves though so you can't surf.
