Torquay is a typical English seaside town with all the amenities that you would expect. Our trip was at the end of the season so not all were available but there were plenty available to amuse. Eating places of all types were plentiful. The Torquay location on the coast is ideal for exploring both north and south with plentiful buses so you can leave the car!! For families the beach is large and sandy plus there are parks nearby for those who like a spot of grass!! At the moment the town centre is undergoing substantial road improvements which are disruptive and a nuisance - however these should be completed in time for next season.

The only thing I can fault was the bed could have been more comfortable, although exceptionally clean, bed had mattress topper... could do with investing in quality mattresses. I can't fault anything else... Paula was a perfect host, made me feel so at home and cared for at such bad difficult time of my life. Would stay every time I visit Torquay.. have stayed in many guest houses in a Belgrave road and this is best by far...

We've been visiting Torquay for many years and although it's changed over the years we still enjoy the atmosphere, many restaurants and it's close to Dartmoor which is a must to visit even on an inclement day.

Torquay has seen better days, the shut pavilion used to be very good but has been shut for years, the empty Debenhams store on the harbour front looks terrible but I think it is to be demolished in the near future. On the positive side there are some excellent restaurants on Torwood street (A379) and the boat trips from the harbour are very good indeed .
