There is nothing negative that I can say about the Headland Hotel. Superb location. Single room with sea views. A comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean bathroom. The facilities of the room fulfilled all my requirements. Staff were pleasant, friendly and looked after us well. I hope to return again in the future. A perfect stay for me and my family.

Torquay is a delicious, relaxing coastal city where you have the docks or the beach to enjoy sunshine. I was at the end of May and it didn't rain although the sun was missing at moments. Guesthouses are a good option for accomodation. There's places near the Visitor Centre and in front of the docks to buy souvenirs. If you need to use the buses, and ask information to the drivers, be careful since some of them don't seem very eager to help you. The reality is you could walk easily along the beach and wouldn't need the buses.

A lovely place and a great area. You can travel very easily from Torquay to rest of Torbay - especially Paignton and Brixham. Also Dartmouth is great and Dartmoor is also very close. People are very helpful and welcoming. Great beaches Fabulous place for a family holiday

The harbour area and beachfront are great for relaxing and walking to Babbacombe and Cockington village and also to Paignton. There were also lots of buses as an alternative. Views are fantastic from the front. Torquay town is typical of most towns these days and has a few people sleeping rough. Just a few shops not found elsewhere.

Torquay is a faded gem.

May 14, 2024

Torquay is a faded gem. Sadly the area lost the many well-paid jobs in technology which, coupled with the loss of domestic holidays to the mediterranean resorts, cost it dear. The area is now run-down, but there are many attractions still available. It's well worth a visit (I would say that, I lived there for ten years and enjoyed it greatly), as it's a unique corner of the UK!

My mum and I came to visit for a mini break this weekend, we like to come & visit if we can every year. Trecarn hotel is not far to visit neighbouring areas such as Torquay, mead foot beach and Paignton, the hotel rooms are basic but have everything you need for a comfortable nights sleep, the bath & shower was brilliant, our room was nice & clean and hotel staff were all lovely, thank you 😊 We had a lovely time Elizabeth & Tricia Mitchell
