Offering just shy of 7,500 kilometres of coastline, it comes as no surprise that Brazil possesses some of the world's most beautiful beach towns. Porto de Galinhas is one of them, Here, days are hot and sunny, streets are relatively quiet and visitors spend their time in the turquoise sea and on sand that stretches for multiple kilometres in both directions.
Those who travel to Porto de Galinhas come for its beaches. Porto de Galinhas Beach, in the centre of town, is spacious and scenic and features several ocean-facing bars and restaurants to fuel up at between dips. This area is also home to natural tidal pools – pockets of turquoise water surrounded by coral reefs where tropical fish congregate at low tide. One of the best ways to witness this phenomenon is by taking a 'jangada' – a single-sail fishing boat – for some offshore snorkelling.
Porto de Galinhas's beaches aren't just for swimming. Cupe Beach's strong waves and currents lure experienced surfers, while wildlife lovers head to Pontal do Maracaipe to spot crabs and seahorses hiding among its mangroves. Kitesurfing is popular at Pontal do Maracaipe as well as at Muro Alto Beach, whose calm waters provide ideal conditions for kayaking and jet-skiing. For a taste of adventure, join a boat trip out to Carneiros Beach. This palm-tree-lined beach is only accessible from the water and features golden sands home to an 18th-century white church.

Very good town to stay and visit the attractions nearby.

Very good town to stay and visit the attractions nearby. The advantage to stay in PG is the options you will have in the evening and the closeness to the beach, perfect to finish the day after a tour.

The city was taken over by people selling all kinds of tours, you literally can’t walk more than 20 meters without being stopped by someone offering some kind of product or service. Restaurants have staff at their doors almost begging tourists to come in. Also, when it rains, water stays on the streets for quite some time. Beaches became unwalkable due to the amount of chairs and parasols and once again people selling things. Another thing is the amount of dirt on the beaches, every single patch of sand is covered by plastic and other kinds of things that don’t belong in there.
Paradise in Brazil!

Paradise in Brazil! I loved the areas of Porto and maracaipe, best of both worlds. With Maracaipe you can take peaceful solitude walks to the pontal where the River meets the ocean. One of the best sunsets I have ever encountered In my life. Porto is great too with the natural Swimming pools and jangada trips to see The reefs. Superb food and shopping . My Favorite spot in Brazil

The city is very nice and safe enough to walk careless with the family, the restaurants offer is quite varied in type of food and prices, tours are available a very fair prices, that beach and natural pools are great! If you have snorkel don´t forget them, it really worth every minute under water! Eating fired fish at any beach "baraca" is perfect!

It's a developing small town in a not-so-rich area of Brazil... many roads are unpaved. Prices in the tourist area are high; walk a few streets away for cheaper food options. The "natural pools" snorkeling is pretty lame (compared to, say, Hawaii or the Riviera Maya). Good for beginners though. Same for the beaches - the water is nowhere near "crystal clear". Uber works. There's wreck diving nearby and fun buggy tours.

For such a small village, Porto De Galinhas has a lot to offer. Nice restaurants, variety of shops and supermarkets where you can find of everything. The beaches are among the most beautiful in Brazil, warm waters; swimming in a natural acquarium is fascinating. Just a few meters away, deeper water beaches and waves are available for those who surf. I will never get tired of visiting Porto.
