Vadim from reception was so friendly and helpful, so already at check in we felt so welcome in this hotel. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the onsen area on the 11th floor but it looked very nice. The room was very clean, again not very big, which wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom was also a delight. They even have a little heater behind the mirror so that it's never getting "foggy" which I found very cool. We booked the place instead of staying in Hiroshima because we wanted to see this cute little town which was definitely worth visiting. From the hotel you're in 10 minutes in the heart of the old town.

They were happy to store our luggage for us from 7.30am of the day we were checking in. Checkout process was non existent, you just shut your door and left. There is a free drinks (including cocktails, spirits, wine) happy hour which lasts 6pm to 9pm, self serve. Breakfast was included in the price and was extensive and delicious. It was close to the train station. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Instead of being available in your room, there was a supply area in reception where you could freely stock up on whatever you needed in the way of toiletries, tea/coffee bags, extra pillows and towels.

This hotel was selected as one of the Top Romance Hotels in Japan by TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Award 2015. This twin room was one of the biggest we had during our stay in Japan and it was extremely comfortable and well located.

Originally built in 1889 as a red-brick cotton mill, this historical hotel is just 300 metres from the Bikan Historical Quarter. It features 2 restaurants, a bar and gift shop.

The air-conditioned rooms at Kurashiki Ivy Square feature cherry-wood furniture and a flat-screen cable TV. It was possible to walk to Ivy Square from Kurashiki Station, however we took a taxi when we first arrived, which only cost ¥1000. The hotel was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hotel is situated in a very convenient area as it is very close to the main streets of the traditional Bikan area of Kurashiki with its many interesting shops selling all manner of items from locally produced tea to denim, also produced locally. We didn't opt for breakfast to be included in our booking but it was very easy to find cafes close by where we could get a coffee and something to eat.
