The floor is tatami all around from the entrance to the lifts, hallway, and room. hotel wear was so comfortable too! I particularly enjoyed the private and public baths that you can use and the free ice cream/drink that’s offered. There’s a karaoke room that’s 1,000yen per hour too. Massage chair was ok there’s 3 units. Not too difficult to figure out if you use google translate camera to help you. The staff were extremely friendly and could speak English. Breakfast was 2,800yen - yes pricey but they’ve got a wide spread of buffet.

Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

A definite top 5 for me. We got the room with a private one and it was simply so amazing to have that within seconds of your room. Also it felt like the water in the private in room onsens had much more minerals than the large one but the large one is well worth a stay too as it feels so free to be the only one there and gazing upon the mountains as you bathe.

Great sake recommendations by the manager. Suggested a wonderful scenic route to our next stop.

Surrounded by beautiful nature, the lovely little Japanese inn Sanso Tanaka has 1 outdoor hot spring baths and 2 indoor ones, which guests can use privately without reservation. One indoor bath boasts views of Mt. Yufudake. Good view to a wide agriculture land and mt. Yufu, Clean and comfy room, private hotspring, staffs being very considerate and helpful that they cleaned our shoes and luggages when check-in, and wiped out the snow on my car when check-out.

Rokumyo is a super nice Japanese onsen ryokan!The owner is an elegant lady, gave us a lot of help during our stay.

If offers Japanese-style and Western rooms, a library and free Wi-Fi at the lobby. The staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. They were attentive to our needs and made guests feel welcomed. The breakfast and dinner meals were delicious and the presentation top-notched. The property is well maintained.

Situated in a historic and peaceful hot spring town, Ryokan Yamashiroya boasts spacious hot spring baths and comfortable Japanese-style guest rooms. I like the onsen bath because it is private and always available. Hosts are soo nice as well, they offer service to and from Yunohira station.
