Great welcome from Susie and Curt. Full breakfast upgrade as well as the steak dinner and roast beef dinner were very well prepared by Curt. All can be recommended. Also great thnks to Tony Wood of Well Fed a few doors along who took care of the breakfast while Susie, Curt, their kid Rosie an Lowie and the dog Hugo started their holidays. A great place to stay if you want to discover the Borders. To be fully recommended.
Doune

This is a budget hotel, if you read the description you will see you get what it says on the tin. Excellent location, short walk to city center, no need for taxis in the evening, close transport links (Inc. trains and buses). The bathroom was small but functional and look brand new. We had a twin room, slept like a baby. Staff brilliant and very helpful with local information. Very handy car park across the road and with the hotel discount was cheap for a city center car park. Would we stay again - planning it already.
Perfect location for a short trip to Edinburgh. A bit away from the city Center but conveniently located short walk from nearest train station (one stop to Waverley - the very city centre) and super close to a bus stop. Cosy old style small hotel with some real local climate, unlike anonymous chain brands. Very nicely decorated large room with all necessary facilities. High ceiling, lots of air, lots of light. I definitely do recommend traditional breakfast. Yummy!
Better than so-called budget hotels - good price, large room, free bottled water. Easy to get into central Edinburgh as several buses stopping just minutes walk from hotel and almost opposite hotel on return journey. 10 minute walk to bus stop/ hotel if using airport buses. Have stayed several times.
Location for secc was within walking distance as was city centre shopping , parking was safe and free 🤩 great for the price we paid, it is a budget hotel though remember so no kettle in room just tv towels and there is shower gel in shower , view was actually really good city especially in morning 😀
Well designed and equipped, great location for the station and city centre, comfortable bed and friendly, helpful staff. I opted for the breakfast which was good and had plenty of vegan options. Motel One is way above my usual experience of budget hotels
The Lovat Hotel is a budget hotel with comfortable rooms and reasonable continental breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful and free. Location was about a 15 minute walk to the city centre. The room had everything needed however the shower was a little lacking with water pressure. The Lovat hotel is a good stopover but if you expect luxury, go pay extra somewhere different.
We've had some bad experiences with Ibis budget but this hotel was actually good. It was not too far from the city centre with a large car park in a pretty convenient location. The room was clean and was what I expect from a budget hotel.
Have stayed in this budget hotel a few times. The rooms are a little on the small size but more than adequate. Great showers, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and a good buffet breakfast. A friendly bar with music at the weekend. It's in a great location just a five minutes walk from Glasgow Central Station, there are a few good restaurants close by and easy access to the city centre. What makes us return is the staff, everyone of them makes you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely be back!
Very good budget hotel in a city centre location. Excellent value for money. Easy to communicate remotely with staff who are quick to respond to any queries. Friendly housekeeping staff. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Free laundry facilities for those on longer stays a definite bonus. I'll be staying here again.
