Kiki Shiretoko Natural Resort, hotel in Rausu

Boasting sea views, Kiki Shiretoko Natural Resort provides accommodation with a terrace, around 300 metres from Shiretoko National Park.

Fantastic dinner and breakfast buffet style. Food quality was exceptional and very wide in variety. Loved the onsen and the resort-like feel of the accommodation. Lots off freebies such as ice lollies after the onsen, drinks/sweets/snacks at a common relaxation area. Loved the spaciousness of the resort. And the staff were all so accommodating and springing up to extend help from the start, when we drove in and to the end.

Great location just a few minutes out of town and right near the nature center. Super friendly lady hostess. Provided coffee and toast free of charge. Comfiest bed and pillow we've had in Hokkaido.

The food was absolutely amazing. The location is also great to do whale watching, which is easily in walking reach - according to a local the whales are better seen in the afternoon (I was not disappointed). From the "harbour" I also saw a stunning sunset (depending on the season you might have to hurry with dinner ;)

Beautiful location and a very nice host. Stunning view over the ocean with birds like harlequin ducks and pelagic cormorants just swimming and resting in front of the hotel.

Sea view from room. Room is big enough to open luggages. Dinner was great with Japanese Italian fusion food, love chef’s creativity. Breakfast serves western and Japanese food. Love their home baked bread. Location is along the road to Bear Rock and waterfall. We spotted many deers, fox and a black bear when we drove out from hotel before dinner. Highly recommend.

My stay in Bear Elephant was one of the best during my trip in Hokkaido, eveything was fine, the location near Rausu very convenient to go to Goko 5 lakes or Notsuke peninsula. Foremost the owner and the staff were so nice and they speak perfectly english. I recommend.

Outstanding family running the business. Location suited our family travel whale watching plans.. Our whale watching company advised us of a small room rate discount deal with Bear Elephant; a pleasant surprise not advertised by the hotel. The shared bathroom and toilet facilities were always clean. Probably the most comfortable futons we've slept on.
