Excellent location, front right on the harbour and back looking onto the Duomo. Fairly basic but the single room with the balcony was very reasonably priced for the location, and the view more than compensates for a very compact bathroom. Decent breakfast.

You should take the porter service, not because of the distance but there is a high chance you will miss the entrance for the elevator.
Breakfast was good, I think much better than the other places. With the tray you can take it upstairs and this is the place that has the best view.
I stayed in the junior suite, it's better than it looks.
This is one of the places I rarely give a 10 to.

We had a very comfortable stay at Hotel Amalfi. The reception girls are responsive and gave us good recommendations. The room (economy) is not big but very functional with own air conditioner, big bed and comfortable bathroom. The breakfast had a lot a variation - in addition to egg, bacon, juice also included italian specialities like buffalo, ricotta, grilled vegetables, fried and baked small dishes; also pastry and fruits. A big plus also for extra room behind the reception where you can comfortably wait before or after check-out if needed. The hotel is centrally placed but silent at night. Very comfortable stay.

Although you need to take in advance that amalfi is on a lot of cliffs so there are a lot of hills and many stairs to go up

It is in a fantastic location and has excellent views. The room was comfortable and spacious. Walking from the hotel to the centre was great. We had three different options to reach the city centre. You can walk directly to the Duomo, or if you prefer to take a boat from the pier, you can take the stairs down and walk directly to the pier.
