Room was comfortable and clean but for £130 a night I would say there wasn’t anything special about the room and you could get better value for money elsewhere. Location is good and grounds are lovely.

The welcome on arrival from the night receptionist was great - I genuinely felt like he was interested in my visit, and it really made a difference. Great work.
Other than that, a perfectly serviceable, clean budget hotel experience in an excellent location.
The hostel's location near the city centre and many touristic spots is great. The reductions on the bar downstairs too. It's cheap so very practical for low-budget travelers like me.
The location was pretty central, which was good for us. As for the hotel, its limitations as a budget hotel were very clear, and we were comfortable with that. The room was pretty small and the breakfast options were quite limited, but we still found plenty of healthy options, which we liked.
As for the staff, they were all great and super helpful in all things.
Our room had the wow factor. For the price we presumed it would be a basic budget hotel but it was beautiful, our room was full of period features with modern touches including a jacuzzi bath. So clean, great location, friendly staff and breakfast was a treat, catering to all tastes
Loved the price, the ample space, had all the required facilities coffee and tea making facilities (some budget hotels don't provide) with a hair dryer and a wardrobe as a bonus extra. Had a ensuite too. City centre location, close by train station in walking distance to coach station, plus to the arena if coming for a concert like me. Ease of checking in at the gyros hut nxt door/out with a key box If you require to check out early. All in a pleasant stay and will definitely return.
Location is ideal as it’s right next to the train station & city centre.
One receptionist, one cleaner & the food server was friendly & helpful, other staff not so much unfortunately.
The bed was adequate & comfier than a lot of hotel beds & the bathroom is more spacious than other budget hotels.
Location was great for walking into the city centre. Our room was right down the end of the corridor as well, so it was quiet. We were very glad of this as there was already a very drunk stag do in the lobby when we checked in at 12! You expect this with an ibis, it is a budget hotel... though the price wasn't particularly budget
