This hotel is great. We arrived after a transatlantic flight hoping to leave our bags and head into Madrid to do the tourist thing. But they did one better...we could check into our room right then. BLISS. After a short nap and shower we were ready to go. The front desk had printed off a copy of the train times for us (no asking), suggested we visit St Francis church and gave a good recommendation for lunch (we asked). The next day we had the breakfast buffet. 9 euros ($10) for just baked croissants, fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurt, cereal, coffee, ham, cheese, fruit, bread rolls....you get the idea! Before breakfast the desk clerk, Javier, asked about our visit to St Francis. We explained we had been unable to do so because the information on their website said it was only open in the morning and we were disappointed that we had been unable to go. As we were leaving breakfast he gave us a printed sheet of the information from the website saying mornings only. But then he called them to check about afternoon opening times. Sure enough it was open later in the day, and he wrote the information on the print out. We went, and YEP, it's got spectacular painted ceilings. Well worth the trip. Thank you Javier for calling. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean.
San Sebastián de los Reyes (Near Tres Cantos)

Traditional, off the beaten track superb hotel. The gardens were gorgeous, as were the hotel itself. Very clean, everywhere. All the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was typically Spanish, and was just what we needed! The decor was lovely, with lots of sofas in corridor areas. The rooms are very clean, and the beds very comfortable! Definitely a hotel to keep going back to!

The night receptionist, Ericka, was absolutely the most professional customer service provider I have experienced in Spain. I arrived late on a Wednesday and a holiday night and asked about restaurants. She provided several options. The receptionist the next morning was # 1 behind her. Breakwater was very good.
