Loved the laid back vibe of the village and the hotel. I was after a retreat from the city and that’s exactly what I got, didn’t want to leave! 老张 is very hospitable - always checking if you’re hungry and then will whip something up in the kitchen. Another guest that arrived said they wanted to hike some of the nearby hills so 老张 was like, ‘let’s go!’ and took us - the entrance is through someone else’s kitchen/back garden so we’d never have got access ourselves. He also mentioned he could take us to places to swim, climb etc. Really love the village atmosphere, everyone knows each other and knows the secret routes/best food spots. Reminded me of my rural village community in the UK. I was able to borrow 老张‘s road bike and cycled to the river to catch one of the rafts, it’s about a ~30min leisurely cycle to get there. There are cycle/foot paths along the river too, so another nice way to experience the scenery. The hotel itself is very quaint. I had one of the Japanese style single rooms and was very happy there, it looks exactly like the picture. They will pre-heat the bed for you in the colder months, nice touch! Water, tissues, towel etc all provided. The toilets and showers are just downstairs, a 10 second walk, and are very pleasant. The toilets are the Japanese ones with heated seats etc. The other helper is also lovely, and she packed my rucksack with fresh pomelo when I set off for my cycle excursion. They grow pomelo etc. beside the house, and also have chickens so eggs fresh too. Loved the rooftop, very zen and great view over the hills. They also have some friendly cats. Will 100% return.

I am glad that I chose to travel to Yangshuo and choose this hotel to stay. The view is beautiful, the hotel is very clean, the hotel managers are a Chinese and French couple, in addition to their respective native languages, they also speak fluent English, and provided me with a lot of help and advice during my trip to Yangshuo. Especially the airport transfer part, which saved me a lot of energy. The hotel is very clean both in the rooms and in the public areas, there is a small bar, the garden is beautiful, everything is relaxing, I hope I have the opportunity to come here again. For travel friends who don't know which hotel to choose, boldly choose this one.

Beautiful view. Bathroom in lux room was perfect. Nice Coffee in the morning. We had very good sleep. It was a pleasure to stay there.

We enjoyed a delightful four night stay at Giggling Tree! Our hosts Alice, Laura and Helen and all the staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. Not only was the location picture perfect and gorgeous, the personalised service provided by the team made our stay special, and meant that we could enjoy the sights and experiences of the area easily.

Great location! Many things walkable. Pedestrian street with nice bars and restaurants are also very nearby! Convenient store right next to hotel. Room was very clean, also lobby etc. a huge huge extra big thank you to Lily! She helped me to organize a driver, taxis and tickets etc. thanks for everything again Lily ❤️
