The hotel is really in the heart of the town. It has a very nice vibe, and we particularly enjoyed the care of the staff to make our stay as good as possible. For example, we were relaxing at their lounge and one of the staff came and lit up the fire in the fireplace - to offer us a much warmer atmosphere. We stayed two nights end of November and booked a spacious quadruple room on the 3rd floor, which had a mountain view and side view on the castle. Everything was perfect: 1) Very close to the center of the village (there are only a few hotels in such proximity to Gruyeres and Hotel de Gruyeres is the most affordable); 2) hotel is located on the hill, so you do not have to go up from public parking P1, P2 or P3; 3) private parking with 9 places and a couple of places for motorbikes (free of charge); 4) if private parking is full, the car can be parked on P1, P2 or P3 for 10 CHF per day or free of charge between 18:00 and 8:00; 5) room is equipped with a fridge, kettle, safe; 6) fabulous fresh breakfast with a lot of choices; 7) very friendly ladies on reception; 8) wellness center with sauna and hammam (can be booked and ready for use in one hour of heating) and small gym (well equipped); 9) restaurant with a terrace outside with an amazing view; 10) 5 min to the cheese factory and 15 min to chocolate factory by car.
