Octant Douro is set in the southern margin of the Douro River, km 41 of the N222 road. It is 10 km from the centre of Castelo de Paiva, 40 km from Porto, 60 km from Porto International Airport and 160 km from the Spanish border. Hands down, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is stunning, the rooms are amazing, the food and service are all next level. The staff were absolutely wonderful, from reception to housekeeping to everyone in between, this hotel clearly prides itself on exceptional service and it shows. Additionally, while I would never describe it as a family resort, there were several small thoughtful details (like a tasteful play area adjacent to the main restaurant, a kids menu, child-s-zed bathrobes, etc) that made children feel very welcome and cared for. Truly, honestly, one of the best places I've ever stayed. Highly recommend, both as a romantic destination and for a family holiday.

Everything was perfect: the house is very spacious, nicely decorated with everything you need. The beds are very big and comfortable. The view from the rooms is amazing. The pool is small, but tor us, being almost all the time alone there, was more than enough. The staff was very nice and helpful, always smiling and present. The breakfast was delicious, various freshly made home made cakes being available, with fresh orange juice and croissants. We will surely be back, thank you for your treat!

Every detail was thought out for the most luxurious stay and it was full of surprises! I was so excited to stay but so surprised when we arrived by how incredible it was. I never wanted to leave. The staff made you feel right at home and I was so relaxed. We had s private wine tasting on the veranda by the vine leaves which I think was the highlight of my trip around Portugal 🥰 thank you a million times. The views from the bedroom were stunning overlooking the river and vineyards. They were comfortable and clean. The rooftop pool area was amazing for cooling off in the heat, drinking their superb Pacheca wine selection and eating snacks. All the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to offer a first class service throughout. They organised a visit to their local winery and much more. The spa area was wonderful too and offered massages, jacuzzi, steam & sauna facilities. The restaurant offered great food and wines with delightful views over the river. The local town was less than 10 minutes by car with great restaurants nearby. A splendid place to stay and we wish them all the success!

A buffet breakfast is available each morning at Torel Quinta da Vacaria - Douro Valley. At the hotel you will find a restaurant serving Mediterranean, local and international cuisine. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options can also be requested. As its slogan says it, exceptional! Wonderful views, the hotel is very nicely designed, the staff very friendly and accommodating.
