Breakfast buffet consistently good, and the eggs are cooked to perfection every time. The beds are very comfortable. Even the sofa bed mattress is more comfortable than many regular hotel mattresses. Beautiful view of the castle ruins, especially when lit up at night. The spa and infinity pool put the new hotel over the top. Entire facility is very clean including the rooms. Love the honesty fridge in the lobby so we can grab a bottle of wine or water even when the shop is closed. The terraces for the suites are massive! Very dog friendly - they cooked our pup his own meal. Easy and secure parking in the garage. Rooms are nicely sound proofed.

We have already visited the region several times but without having an accommodation there. This time we chose a hotel just in the valley, where all interesting places are located around within 10 km. We were attracted by the Hochkar mountain and both the Wasserlochklamm and the Gams bei Hieflau waterfalls. The Fahrnberger hotel is a nice building already from outside and a reasonably big parking is located in front of the building. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, although we do not speak German (they also fluently speak English). We were accommodated in a nice, separate building near the main hotel building. We like the style how the hotel is equipped: it is a local Austrian natural design but providing the maximum comfort. We felt like we were on our honeymoon there. In the evening we enjoyed a great Riesling white wine in the hotel lounge. The four poster bed, located in our big and amazing room, provided a very pleasant environment in the night. The bathroom with a shower was also big and comfortable. The toilet was in a separate room. In the morning we have a nice mountain view from the window of our room. The breakfast was very tasty and we also enjoyed sitting places in front of the hotel to absorb the atmosphere of the Alps mountains. We left the hotel totally satisfied and the price for the accommodation seems to us very adequate. For sure, we plan to return there in the future.
