The decor, the setting, the comfortable bed, the staff, the breakfast and the fact the chef created a five course vegetarian dinner for us “off menu” that was out of this world delicious. This is a wonderful place to rest and recharge or to use as a base for exploring lakes and mountains.

Our stay at Asja and Drazen's place was an absolute dream! Nestled in an awesome location, we couldn't have asked for a better setting for our getaway. Right from the beginning, we were welcomed by the warmth of our friendly hosts, Asja and Drazen, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay special. The clean apartment provided us with a cozy and comfortable retreat, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy every moment of our stay. What truly touched us was the lovely surprise of a welcoming gift that awaited us upon our arrival. It was a thoughtful gesture that made us feel like we were staying with dear friends. The convenience of being just a 5-minute ride away from the lake was a true luxury. For those who crave a bit more adventure, a leisurely 15-minute bike ride led to the lake, offering breathtaking scenery along the way. While Asja and Drazen generously offered us the use of their bikes, we opted for a car ride, but the gesture did not go unnoticed.

Fabulous apartment with a lovely balcony overlooking the mountains. Quiet and peaceful.The kitchen is superbly equipped with everything anyone could possibly want. Everywhere is beautifully decorated and furnished with style. I was welcomed by Maja's mam, who was so warm and friendly. I was given an early check-in, which I very much appreciated. Sitting on the balcony was a joy. I slept really well in the gorgeous bedroom with a large comfortable bed. Before that, I was able to relax on the very comfortable couch. The bathroom is clean and modern. Altogether, this is a superb place to stay.

Honestly - Dusan is the best host I've ever had. He did everything in his power - and even a little more - to make everything proceed smoothly, and let us enjoy the trip. He helped us tremendously - from little things, like providing e.g. timetables before the stay, through taking care of our luggage well before expected check-in time and accepting our minor requests, to giving us tips on where is the best place to eat in the area and what are the places to see. I've never expected to meet a person so committed to make us love the stay in Bohinj. And that he did. The area is beautiful, it has everything one needs on a trip. Our favorite was the ice cream place just around the corner - cheap and delicious! Dusan also provided us with free bikes, and the biking infrastructure around the area (especially towards Bohinj lake) is great. We were mostly hiking, and the location 5 minutes from the main bus stop (and 7 minutes from Danica camp) made it easy to access the popular trails and attractions (e.g. Vogel and Visevnik, but we also made a trip to Triglav with only public transport; there is also good communication to Bled and Ljubljana). If you are still wondering whether Slovenia (and Bohinj) is the right place to spend the vacation - the nature is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Casa Bohinj is a great starting point for this. In terms of accomodation itself - don't let the photos trick you. When we first viewed them, we thought that the room was cramped - well, no avoiding the fact that it isn't the most spacious room we've seen, but it didn't feel small to us once we arrived. There are many drawers, shelves and cabinets which easily fit stuff of three adults with excess, and as we initially planned the trip for 4 people, we feel that we could easily accommodate another person. We weren't really needy in that respect, as a mostly hiking group.

Majas apartment was really nice and comfortable. It looked even better than on the pictures. The location is great, we did 3 hikes from there and got some great advice on where to go. Maja and her daughter (I think?) are really nice and I already felt sort of homesick when leaving.
