Didn’t have breakfast as 50.00 for 2 seemed a little excessive and had a nice breakfast close to hotel for half the price.
The staff were very friendly professional and helpful particular the door men who helped with parking.
The room was huge for a city centre hotel and very comfortable with small details appreciated like Milton brown toiletries and Yorkshire shortbread fab bathroom too

It’s an historic property with period features. Beautifully located - peaceful, yet within easy reach of York by bus (Route 11), cab or car (Castle Car Park offers an affordable flat rate evening charge after 6pm). Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Staff are wonderful, without exception. Dinner was served with elan, beautifully prepared and delicious. Breakfasts were comprehensive, appetising and offered loads of choice. Easy parking. The whole place is immaculate. The grounds are a delight and expertly well maintained.

Booked this place by complete coincidence as the closest place to my business trip and it was a bullseye. Great place and most of all amazing people. Amazing views and delicious food. Will definitely be back! Well recommend for stay not only for golf lovers.

What better way to unwind after a day’s sightseeing than relaxing in a health and wellness spa? Some spa hotels use mineral-rich water pumped straight out of the ground, helping to maintain and restore good health.
Michelle greeting us and was very pleasant and friendly. She informed everything we needed to know and showed us around. Our room was very spacious as was the bathroom. At breakfast we were greeted with a friendly good morning and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and plenty to choose from. After a long day we went down to the jacuzzi and then relaxed in their beautiful garden and had a wee blether with Michelle. Can’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely revisit.
The location, just five minutes walk from the the main city centre. but far enough away in a lovely quiet location with decent parking was a real plus. The apartment itself was top notch for a short city break with all the amenities you could really need for such a break. Clean and spacious with a nice bathroom and shower. Felt really relaxed in the place, with a home from home feel about it
From walking in the staff were lovely, whilst we waited to check in we had a drink in the bar overlooking the racecourse. The room we had was upgraded and spacious. Everything clean and robes provided. Had access to the pool/sauna facilities. Breakfast had great choice and was cooked well. Overall a very relaxing stay and look forward to return / visit more Marriott Group hotels!

I enjoyed the pool and gym also and found the atmosphere in the pool are so relaxed and calming. Even has steam and sauna access.
Restaurant was lovely - had some vegetarian options and breakfast had so many options

The room was large for a classic and superbly appointed and clean. The staff throughout were fantastic and the breakfast 1st rate. The sauna experience was enjoyable and the massage truly relaxing. I can't praise all the staff enough for making our stay so enjoyable!
Perfect little family break. The lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay, lots of space and good wifi. the hot tub is a perfect way to relax and unwind after busy day. The onsite bar and restaurant served some lovely food and nice pints also.
It was presented so well, clean and quality no corners cut, the detail made it. Such a small space offering everything we needed without feeling restricted, it was simple but effective. The bed was very comfortable with a quality mattress and the hot tub was excellent so clean and so big and the surroundings really made it a relaxed environment perfect for time out!

Luxury lodge with all the high spec details including the hot tub. At the same time you felt as if you could relax even though it was so luxurious. We loved the hot tub definitely a special touch to the break.
The lodge was amazing, had everything that we needed for a comfortable break away. The lodge was spacious, very clean and immaculately presented. The hot tub was great and I saw staff going round the lodges testing to see if they ok.
JJ's restaurant on sight was also very good, well worth a visit.
It took us about 20 mins to get to York, there is a park and ride and also plenty of parking in the centre of York.
Very relaxing place will definitely return.
The lodge was amazing- so spacious, clean, warm, cosy and homely.
It had everything you could need for a short break. The balcony was lovely overlooking the little lake , and felt private when in the hot tub. The sound of the fountain from the lake was very relaxing. The location was perfect to relax, but close enough to drive into York for the day. I would definitely stay again!
