The Celtic Manor Resort, hotel in Magor

Host of the 2010 Ryder Cup golfing competition, this award-winning resort is set in 2000 acres of parkland in the Usk Valley. It comprises a 5-star hotel and a historic 19th-century manor house.

The room was lovely, very clean and gone above and beyond with details that make it worth the price, ie. robes and toiletries. We ate our evening meal at 'The Grill' where the staff were extremely friendly, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced too! Overall a very lovely relaxing evening.

Great, safe car park and good destination which is near Chepstow and Caldicot to get taxis for evening entertainment. The room was large and spacious with such an amazing bed that was so comfortable and with two pillows, with a corner sofa. We didn’t stay for breakfast but it smelt delicious when we left.

The room was beautiful with lots of really nice extra touches. It was like staying in a luxury chalet, so much better than a hotel. The breakfast was good quality, homemade bread and homemade butter, all Welsh products too. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and looked great, it was also very spacious and for the price we paid we were really satisfied. Bubbly, lighthearted staff, and the breakfast was lovely. The road to get there was a bit of a pain and not the greatest view from the window but there's nothing that can be done about that! Overall we had a great stay.

New-build hotel in service area. Nice room, plenty of space. Appreciated the rare design of the shower, you could turn on the taps without standing in the flow of water, thus making it possible to get the temperature right without getting frozen or scalded. Excellent Wifi. Good breakfast.
