Clean, modern, view to die for. Restaurant prepared our table with things to do for our kids, same with breakfast. Everything thought through and well managed. Like in the shower, it has a small holder for the razor. Things like how you control the lighting and curtains in the room. It’s in the details. And whatever you do, don’t do anything until you speak to the gentleman in the reception. He gives you tips for your trip there or even the next part of your trip. We’ve been to many places and hotels but this is the best. Just the best.

The Bären guest house offers easy access to numerous smaller Appenzell skiing and cross-country skiing areas, which can be reached within 10 minutes’ drive. Gonten Valley Golf Course is only 10 km away. Fabulous little hotel with super friendly and helpful service, comfortable rooms and great breakfast. Beautiful location with wonderful views.
